Checked my trail cam today, had a bunch of pictures of deer, no bucks though Im thinking the buck(s) maybe are pulled up on the hillsides? i dont know. My camera is set up along a path that runs next to a creek in between two hills.
Got my new rig last night. Was up at first light today, got it dialed in and took it to the last 3D shoot of the season. I'm loving the bow but the jury is still out on the React V5 sight.
Here is my attempt at a rope licking branch. It isn't pretty or natural looking, but it might just do the trick. I'll add some Conquest to the rope and hang a dripper from the top bracket. Fingers crossed!
Nice early season doe, the scorecard thread is up now so you can put up your 2 pictures. Way to start us off.
I caught this buck on camera in late June. He was using a heavily traveled trail. I also got pics of several smaller bucks. Today I moved my camera back to the same trail to see if I can catch another picture of him with his rack full grown. I also set up my blind on the hillside over the trail.
congrats on the doe! Way to get us started. Super jealous of those already out there. I've never had the chance at it but I hear nows the time to pattern a buck on a food source.
Well I should be all good to go for this weekend. I got my permission secured, license purchased and bow tuned up. Will be tuning the broadheads this week and hunting friday, saturday and probably sunday too (does only). The wife asked if I wanted to go with her to hang out with my in-laws or go hunting... I almost laughed out loud. (My in-laws are actually awesome and I love hanging out with them, but that is a funny question)
Any wife that would ask a question like that doesn't know her husband very well and the two of them should seek marriage counseling as soon as hunting season ends...
Even my in-laws laughed at it, but she is letting me skip a wedding in october to hunt...she hits one out the park every now and then.
