nope, had a really close opportunity with a doe that came to about 10 yards but was pretty much head on until she passed and gave me no shot, great sit though!

Been out a bunch of times. I let a low 140s walk on friday. Been a pretty decent start ive had 5 different bucks in bow range so far. Have 1 particular deer im hunting so its him or bust unless another booner shows up. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
I might get out this afternoon for my first deer hunt of the year. I have done zero prep work or scoutiing this year. It is hard hunting here in Maine when I know I will have 10 days in Kansas in another month.
This am was a bust. Impossible to type b/t the rain drops. Glad to get out for the first day though, thankful for a warm rain. Good luck to those getting out tonite, I have a wedding. Don't they know it's hunting season? Lol
The 125" 9 pointer came in tonight, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. Him and his little 8 point buddy will be in trouble next year though.
Passed on a deer w/ nuclear genetics tonite. One side was a nice half of an eight, the other looks like long stick running out the side of his head. Big deer but it's early in the season.
Saw a few deer on my sit Saturday evening. Nothing worth picking up the bow for. Hunting around my house is one tag only, if I shoot a doe I am done for the year.
Had thunderstorms here last night. Today I plan on checking my blinds to make sure they are still there and hopefully I'll be able to sit this evening.
Im in central VA, I'm gonna try to get a pre-Matthew hunt in this thursday. Think that will get them up and moving?
I'm hitting the woods this evening. I'm not real excited about the spot I chose. It won't take much non-activity for me to change it. Guess there is only one way to find out

I was out last night with no luck. I plan to hit it again this weekend. The deer are starting to abandon their summer patterns. Time to do something more scouting.
Well I blew it, saw a bunch of deer tonight just missing the trail I wanted them down, then had a small doe finally come by and eventually stop took a shot and missed in front of her. So frustrating definitely gonna have trouble sleeping tonight. freezer is still empty and I'm gonna practice until my arm falls off. *FYI this is a copy and paste from the live from the stand thread- just thought I would update yall as well*
And now to move forward I decided Im taking my climber next time and I'm gonna try to find a tree that overlooks the trail intersection where I was seeing the deer. Only problem is, I dont know when Ill be able to get out next (I expect a lot of rain this weekend) and I dont know if I can find a tree. not to mention the fact the only bones Ive seen on a deer were a spike... Hopefully I'll have permission at a new spot next week though...
