I'll tell ya. I've never heard the turkeys gobble the way they were this morning. If I heard 1 gobble I heard 300. It was nuts. I had them real close a couple times, but they stayed in the woods and I never saw them. Well at about 7:30 a hen and a good longbeard crossed the field behind me, but stayed pretty far out. Things got pretty quiet and around 8:45 I layer down on the ground and took a small siesta.

Awoke at 9:15. Peeked out the back and whaddya know. Longbeard and a Jake. They were about 70 yards or so. So I gave them some soft calls which appeared to have spooked them more than anything. So I dropped one of the port windows and put the lazed on the nearest. 42 yards. Adjusted my pin, drew........... Wait for it............ Just as I let go the bird started walking. Arrow passed just over his tail. Had he not moved I would have drilled him. I pretty much give up. Gonna sit till 1 and I believe I will break out the Benelli next weekend. Call me a quitter, I don't care. Enough is enough. LOL

    Tough luck man.

At least you heard them this morning. I went out for a few hours and never heard a single gobble. Did have a jake come into the setup though.
