Lots of overdue library books, cold mornings, coffee, frustration, close calls, bhordie and practice finally paid off with my first deer ever. Shot him at 30 yards on public land. I hit both lungs with a muzzy fixed blade that passed through leaving a clear sign of a fatal shot. The blood trail looked like a scene from Dexter. Only ran 40 yards downhill to where he dropped. I though it was a doe when I took the shot (tried to fill a DMP Tag), but when I finally climbed down and found him he had a pair of 3"+ spikes. Skinned and butchered him myself at a friends place. Now I have a freezer of meat and the first deer under my belt. What a thrill!
Grats! You'll never forget it! Consider yourself lucky... I hear some guys complain they hunted for several years with a bow before their first kill!
Couldnt wipe that smile off your face with a shovel! The first deer will be one you always rememebr. Congrats!
I hope you're a better shot with a bow than you are placing pictures on the www. Congratulations. Hopefully the first of many more to come.
Congrats on a gravity deifying harvest! It feels great when you get your first and you'll always remember it. (I'm talking about hunting here)
Took me until my third season to harvest a deer, congrats, that is no small feat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
