So, I take off for the cabin for an afternoon sit today....one hour drive. I get there, talk to my nephew and cousin for a few minutes and then go outside to get dressed. Opened the back of the truck, no bags of clothes. Opened the the back seat, nothing.

****!!!!! I forgot my clothes, Muddy harness, release and back tag at home. :(

I ended up taking my cousin out to the killing stand I just hung 2 days ago. Will be interesting to hear about the evening.

So, yes, I am retarded. :o

Lol, I think most of us have all done something similiar at least once. I once left hurriedly after work for an evening hunt and left the bow at home.

Maybe it will be a good luck hunt for the cousin.

It doesn't bother me really, just kinda funny. I actually laughed and told my cousin it was his lucky day!

I hope he kills a good one tonight, he's never shot a deer with his bow.

Its also giving me a chance to get a few things done at home so we can head back to IL early early Monday.

He saw a big 8 chasing a doe out of range and heard another chase and another buck grunting.

Being the nice guy I am :D, I should let him sit it in the morning as the wind is going to do a 180 and be a perfect morning stand.

I was getting dressed for this evening's hunt and had everything on including my stand when I started to grab my hat and shut my back hatch... and couldn't find it.

Took everything back off and drove the 3 miles back to where I hunted this morning and had to hike a mile back in to where I took my wool underwear off before I hiked out this morning... It was my woflskin one that BowTech emroidered their big puffy logo on for me; woulda SUCKED to lose that.

So... yes, we're all retarded. :D

You gave up a hunt to find a hat ?? Please tell me you at least hunted the spot where you left your hat or at least hunted. Oh the vanity if not !! :)

Dan... Once I had gotten setup only to remember my tags were at home. I cussed myself for being retarded when I had to scrap the hunt. LOL

But don't feel bad. I was with a friend out of town when half way there, I remembered I forgot my boots.

We did make it and had a successful hunt.

Nope, didn't miss any hunting at all... had time to do all that and still drive back to the spot I was at when I realized I'd lost my hat... I was going in plenty early because of the time of year it is; I still ended up getting in stand by 1:25.

This wasn't just any hat, ya know.... you can't buy these! :D

In my defence, squirrel boy doesn't drink coffee so the time from McDonalds to the time when we got to the spot was insufficient to allow the caffeine in said coffee to provide the function to the brain it was designed to do :p :)
