I treasure hunting and have respect for the game I pursue but I do not worship them or put them on a pedestal. Deer are wild animals, not a god.

I obey the game laws and respect them.

If someone chooses to shoot a high fenced deer then that is their perogative. As long as they aren't calling it hunting and not trying to put the scores in the "book" then I'm fine with it.

Your night just got worse, SCI allows high fence deer to be recorded in their record book.

My night is great. I don't agree with them being entered in a book but I won't lose sleep over it.:D

SCI has different categories for Estate and free range kills.

I have no problems with how others want to hunt but do wish the preserves had a few more regulations . I'd really like to see them have to put up a double fence to create a buffer zone between the wild deer heard in the area and their diseased heard .

Why yes they do Dan, I laughed out loud on that one. However the point being SCI recognizes high fence animals in their record book.

But they don't compete against free range kills.:what:

Find something else to worry about. There are plenty of worthy causes, this isn't one of them. imo.

SCI does more to preserve hunting rights than P&Y and B&C combined.

I know some one who went to forest of antlers in Wisconsin and shot a 160 class deer on the first day. They had it on video and it made me sick that the buck came to the feeder with a bunch of other MOSTER buck but they were not paying to shoot a 220 inch . Then he acts like he is the god of hunting. Only deer he has killed. He has property in Lincoln county NEVER has bow hunted in his life but has a diamond razor edge he shot it once. Every year he goes high fence hunting for elk in Colorado. If you have never been bow hunting you don't know what hunting is. And don't act like you are the Fred Bear of hunting just because you have a bow but have never shot it except for at the dealer when you bought

Not for me? I had a buddy of mine wanna go to a places in Pennsylvania thats only 10 acers !!! 10 acers is rediculas small and that is not very sporty at all but to each his own. If its a HUGE place then I dont think I would mind. I think places like that are great for introducing youmg hunters to the sport.

So french, I assume you want high fence outlawed.

    On what grounds?

Is it safe to say you have no idea what SCI does?

Well to each its own. I'd never do it for a deer hunt or some non-native (exotic) species. I do think it needs to be more regulated. E.G. Minimum required acres for enclosed area. The thing that makes me sick is breeding (pen raised) deer for bone . It has flat out ruined it.....

I would like to see the hunting part of high fence outlawed, yes. If we are going to farm for deer, lets give the deer the respect of the cow and pig. We also do not know enough about CWD and deer behind fences. Slippery slope issues, also. What if your neighbor wants to raise coyotes for high fence hunting? Where do you draw the line? Why risk the wild herd, we already know diseases are being transferred from the caged high fence deer to the wild ones. I could go on.

What the hell are you talking about?

If you want to worry about something, this is a worthy cause.
