I am saying in Illinois it is illegal to bait, thus I don't even need to debate it. In Illinois it is illegal and you can not do something illegal and be put in the record books.

You purposely avoided my question. Ill be a bit more specific.

I dont know if conneticut allows baiting, but if it does and people bait, should their deer not be allowed in the recordbooks because it isn't fair chase?

I am pretty sure humans intervene everyday on wild animals lives. Also just because something is overseen or controlled by something else, doesn't make it any different. Christians live and are overseen in Canada by the Canadian government, Christians live and are overseen in America by the American government, are they not all Christians? Just one example, but I can pull up many more.

In Illinois and many other states it is illegal to hunt wild animals behind a high fence, regardless of how many acres are fenced in.

In these states where it is illegal, if you are pursuing animals behind a high fence, you are engaging in agriculture and not conservation.

You know a guy has no argument left when he avoids answering relevant questions and repeatedly spouts the same rhetoric based on semantics.

Hi Im Billy, This card is yellow.

Well you see billy, color is completely based off of light so while it looks yellow now, in another lighting it could appear green, orange, or a variety of other colors.

It isn't debatable, my name is Billy and this card is yellow!

I would actually say when someone can't debate the topic and brings humor or another means they have already lost and are angry.

To be angry over an Internet forum would be trivial. I just find humor in narrow mindedness.

Someone who views a neighborhood deer that can nearly be petted as wild yet views a 10th generation animal in a 3000 acre enclosure that isn't restocked as a farm animal... Well that person cannot be rationalized with because they see only in black and white. The world is full of grays.

Again, I don't and likely never will hunt a high fence enclosure. Not my cup of tea... Just doesn't make it wrong or easier than how I go about things.

I don't know if I'm missin the point here? So because my water buffalo I shot on 3500 acres was the 3rd generation of a water buffalo that came on a boat 30 years ago to Florida makes me a non hunter? So I walk in the woods stalking these giants with a bow only in hand. Tracked and stalked up on many groups with no success. And finally get to 35 yards of one of these 2200 lbs monsters. And make a great archery shot and harvest this animal. That's not hunting because a guy who works for a government agency classifies it as a farm animal because of the animals ancestor??? The fact he's born an raised in this fences jungle makes him as dumb as a dairy cow. But a guy who goes to South Africa and literally leves his hotel room to drive about 2-3 miles in a jeep. Overlooks plains that the eye can't see the end of. And he sees a thousand animals in this field, where tey are every single day. And now just points and shoots at as many African game as he can afford. That's hunting though right because those are classified as wild game.

Once again my arguments remains the same. Fences hunts can be good and bad. Although that's the same for wild hunts too. When in Africa water sources are purposely dried so that they can control where the herds stay. Cause god forbid you had to actually stalk wild game.

I will not make fun of you in public for shooting farm animals. I think it is clear you were not educated on the process.

I wish you luck in the future.

Hunting is different for everyone. I wouldn't choose hunting anywhere in IL over where I hunt now... but I still think it hunting. Fence hunting, not for me... now... Who knows what the future holds for me. The older I get, the less I deal in absolutes :tu:

There are not to many people I would trade either Fitz. Hunting is maybe above average, but too many good memories to ever leave. I am with ya on the fences.;)

What the heck does it matter? It's still a deer and you're still killing it.

I got a twist for you. I must ask if it would be ok to shoot.

I had 3 cows come by my stand one day and of course I let them walk. :D

I can shoot a cow but I have to pay market value to the farmer. :what:

So, I got back to camp and come to find out, these cows have been roaming free for months and no one claimed them as theirs anywhere around for miles. They were basically ferrule.

Would it be ok in your opinion to shoot them. Are they free roaming.

I will tell you, the small one was going to get an arrow after I found out it was free game.;) I like beef:D

Oh no please do. Educate me on why one is a farm animal because of a fence. But another has no fence but truly has no way to leave due to human control.

But who am I kidding. I'm a baiter too so I'm not a real hunter. Let me guess you hunt with a shoelace and a stick right? Wearing a deer hide speedo and a feather in your hair??? I can tell by your repetitive condescending posts without answering anyone's actual questions. You must be a master of the woods

Why you even asking him this?? He's like no other guy who is not allowed to bait who acts like its not right. And can't afford a hunting retreat so whines about that too.

Not sure what you see? I see a few guys that are getting all worked up over a silly topic on an internet forum. I'm saying "take it easy" because it is starting to escalate.

It was a general take it easy. Just trying to remind people to relax a bit.
