Was watching television a moment ago an heard a comment a lady host on a show say "Whitetail Preserve". Peaked my curiosity so I jumped on the Internet and got to searching the term. Now, I've heard of what I call "High Fence Hunting". Basically, you buy up a bunch of land and put a big *** fence around it, then you put a exorbitant amount of deer in the perimeter of the fence and grow them to freakishly huge size which is not even natural in my opinion and you will never see anything like what they show on those "preserves" in the wild on a normal outfitters ranch with no fences or anywhere else for that matter. Those places with the fences in my honest opinion absolutely throw fair chase completely out the window. I understand there are whitetail farms that have fences which are operate and maintained strictly for the conservation and continuation of the species but this is different to me. What are ya'lls opinions on places like this?

Its Not hunting, it's killing. I have to much love for the hunting part. To want to go out an herd deer into a corner an kill em. If that's the case you might as well just buy beef.

You also must remember they don't sell actual hunting tags as we all do. It's a different ball game.

Not hunting. I saw one of these shows on the pursuit channel, and they took it a step farther. When the lady shot the deer, I noticed a tag in the ear. Then she makes a bad shot on the deer at 20yrds, and the next thing you know they find it a day later.(and probly have to put a finisher shot in)

The outfitter explains...these deer have a tracking tag on them that really helps out business. That way if someone only has a day or two to hunt, we can look at where the deer is, and get the hunter right on them. Also, it works great for recovery, as we never would have found this deer if not for the tracking tag.

It made me f****** sick. Wrong on soo many levels. Didn't watch the pursuit channel for a long time after that.

    Absolute garbage.

    Not hunting

Edit: I need to add that I may not consider it hunting but to each their own. It's just not for me.

    Haha. Right?

Actually, it may be easier... No tracking tags on call girls.

It's Uncle Ted's favorite way to hunt.

Definitely not for me though. If someone wants to shoot a 400 inch deer behind a fence and thump their chest like they're a super hunter...more power to 'em.

I'd take a natural, normal looking eight pointer over one of those genetically produced freaks.

No my thing, but if its legal and someone wants to do it, have at it. There's bigger things to worry about, like oneself, rather than what others are doing.
