Shot this deer late season, he was limping pretty bad. You could see the tops of his shoulder blades!
The daughter of a guy on our lease wounded a doe in that area earlier in the year. I'm thinking it may have grazed her back and then just gotten worse as the season progressed. Shot one earlier in the year that still have a bullet slug in her shoulder. The wound had already healed up but her shoulders were completely rotten on the inside. You couldn't walk within 10ft of her without gagging. It's crazy how they live with injuries like that.
Yep. I know of a couple guys that took wounded deer because of it being ethical and humane. Called the warden and after he inspected it was issued a new tag. How it should be.
