Bow season don't open up here in Alabama till October 15. And ya'll are killin me posting pics of these big ole bucks. I'm pure ate up with buck!!! Ya'll are so lucky season opens early for ya'll I've got a whole month from today to wait and I honestly don't think I can wait. Who else has buck fever just as bad as me?
i still have two week wait, but hey you guys are hunting the rut in January when most of the rest of us are done.
I'm in the same boat buddy. Though, the season opens here tomorrow, I won't be able to hunt til Oct. 11th.
Our rut will be over in Iowa around the third to last week in nov. Bow season is from Oct 1st to End of NOV.
It's like the old strip club saying. "It's like walking in to a 5 star restraunt, sitting down and looking at the menu without being able to order".
Its okay... when it is -5 in December in Wisconsin, I am sitiing in my stand in Alabama with a camo Tee-shirt and a Thermacell. I like my cold weather... 35 in the morning... 60 in the afternoon. Or... this... I take my Ranger to my favorite bowhunting spot... get down around 1100 and fish for a while then back on my stand at clobbering time. We have our perks too.

I'm already having withdrawals... my season came to a close last week after the September 1 opener in Wyoming (season's still open but I'm back home)! No, wait a minute...Season opens Oct 1 in Oklahoma and Sept 19 in Kansas...and I have tags! Whew, thought I was in for a long winter. Even though I got in a week of hunting already, I cannot wait...all over again. :D
I have always thought that the season in Al needed to be changed a little to better coincide with the rut but I also think that we have a long season in comparison to some states. Not to mention the amount of deer that we are able to harvest each season without having to worry with tags. I can't speak for anyone else in Al but I would prefer a little cooler weather when the season opens, 70's and 80's are not my idea or perfect hunting weather, not that I won't be out there though.
i got buck fever. my season starts tomorrow and i honestly cant wait. i dont think ill be sleeping tonight!
we open next saturday the 22nd. i am bouncing off the walls. i feel like a junkie looking for their next hit. i feel your pain brother.
