NAP spitfire gobble getter. Missed with the bullhead on the first shot at 8 yards. Lmao! Shot right over the top of him.
The unofficial results are: 20 lbs 4 oz. 9.5" beard 1" spurs (Should have been better. Its really rocky in that area and he had really wore them down.) I did the best I could on the self portrait. It was really windy!
Just got back on after being 'off' for a day. Our electric went out and we had not 'net. WAY TO GO HECK!!! I can't wait 'til 5/1!
Awesome Heckler! Congrats, looks like a nice bird. I got some good news for me today too. I should be able to hunt every single day of our season if I want to. I can modify my schedule at work so that I can hunt til 11 or so every day. If I don't kill something there will be a serious problem.
Tomorrow night will be my next outing to try to better the bird I have. My boy will be first up! Still looking for that father / son double!
Slow night. Been here since a little before 5 and haven't seen a bird or heard a gobble. Very odd since I have seen and killed birds here many times in years past.
Your score is 20.25 + 10 + 10 + 19 = 59.25 Not my best for sure. Best bird I have harvested is right at 80.
Tonight was a bust. We did see 7 deer. Go figure.... I pray my son will see some action on our next trip. Never did hear a gobble even at dark and it was dead calm. Should have been able to hear them if they were within a mile. Funny thing is we have that spot marked on the map as "Money" spot. I put a red X through that location for the remainder of the season.... Not sure what has changed there. Years past when I hunted there both creeks had water running in them. Not a drop this year. Maybe that is the issue.....
I posted a coupon code here: http://forums.bowhunting.com/manufa...ino-outdoors-xp-1-ground-blind-promotion.html for the blind if you are interested. The new blinds are in Predator - All Purpose camo pattern which I am really digging!
A buddy and I went to listen for birds this morning on his family farm and only heard a couple gobbles. But we got to see the bird that gobbled, and he's a dandy. Hopefully we can get his boy a crack at the gobbler in the morning. I can't wait, it's gonna be this kids first turkey hunt and I think I'm more excited than he probably is.
Went out this am to listen and take pictures from the blind and if everything goes well like this morning, my youth hunter should have an opportunity at a good tom. Best of luck guys! Will post tomorrow on how things went. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I'm sitting here awake because my dog is barking her head off at a raccoon outside. I guess that's gonna be my cue to get up and start getting my stuff together since she won't let me sleep. I'm taking the camera today and hunting in a blind, so hopefully I can get some good pics to share.
