My property continues to seem to be returning more and more back to normal. Finally had one of the last year's hitlist bucks show back up like normal, just two weeks later than he normally comes around. He never summers but comes mid-september usually.

His name is Benor and he has been just a big 8 his entire life and refuses to do anything else LOL

If you look at the pictures I don't think he changed hardly AT ALL this go round from one year to the next..

The buck that always shows up first two weeks of October and then hangs around until post rut is an awesome young 10 and last year he was nearly enough to eat an arrow but this year I'm hoping was his explosion year at what I believe is as a 4.5 year old, but at times last year I almost think he may have been a STUD 2.5 year old. No sightings yet but only have so many cell cams and they're more on perimeter for people as much as deer...

Here's two pictures of him last year I have saved on phone.

I would agree he looked like a 3.5 year old last year. He should be a stud this year.

    You definitely should do that!

I know it is bitter-sweet to have me on a team because I am hunting for some specific bucks and to do that requires passing some bucks that would be a lifetime trophy for many. I guess it's a little like hunting an elk in Arizona. You don't go there to kill a 240 bull. I am just lucky enough to live where the deer get stupid big. They are no smarter than anywhere, they just grow some good headgear. On the bright side, I have been on a pretty good roll of harvesting some decent bucks the last few years and I have more time to hunt this year, so maybe I can keep the string alive for team X!

I think this team could make a very deep run this year.

I don't know his neck separation from brisket was really defined and hind quarters in person just seemed underdeveloped for a 3.5 year old. Either way I'll be honest, given my current life and situation of limited time - good chance I'd shoot him this year regardless LOL

The last 3 bucks I've taken in Ohio have been over 160". The past 2 years we haven't had anything over 140". We had EHD last year, but it wasn't near as bad as it has been this year. I run cameras all year round and I'm just don't have a shooter yet. Hoping the end of October changes that.

We have had some areas nearby that have been decimated with EHD. It is really sad, I have had properties go through it in the past and it is a heartbreaker to find dead bucks that you have passed. I have been extremely lucky the last few years that all but one of the properties I hunt have had little to no outbreaks.

I hope you get a few good surprises as temps drop and testosterone rises!

I have big deer around too, but I usually blast them in the shoulder and never see them again!

Nice bucks on film guys! I'll post a few more here shortly. We run a cuddelink with a home camera that is not wireless so I am swapping cards every week or two on the home camera. We try to centrally locate it on a main road so that intrusion isn't anything out of the ordinary. I put up a browning camera set to video on a food plot that has a couple big pine trees in it that has a grape vine licking branch I hung 8 years ago. That spot is always a hot spot of buck congregation in the fall. I cant say I have had a year that I haven't gotten a buck fight with pictures, I haven't done video mode for a while so I'm excited to see what comes. My Covert cell cam is acting up which is on another funnel to a field so I hope to get that rectified this weekend.

Saturday's high is 87 and Sunday is supposed to be cloudy, windy and 75. the barometer looks to bottom out Sunday afternoon at 29.6 and the up to 30.2 by Monday mid morning, Mondays high is 58. My plan is to get the kids from school Monday, drop them at grandmas and be out in the stand for a 3-4 hour sit. I think the food to bed pattern still holds true for a while yet so I am going to tuck into an easy access spot that gets crossed to the access a neighboring 60 acre corn field. Otherwise my second location is a scrape location off a smaller destination food plot on a major travel corridor.

Good luck guys, the time is here!

Great buck man…..love the photo and way to get us rolling. Our season just started the 1st so it’s way too hot and thick still for me to put in serious stand time.

    Keep ‘em coming boys!!!

Team 5 has 5 does down already. I refuse to take one in Ohio due to EHD, but I sure will here at home in PA.

I think it's proven that the team who takes the most does ends up winning. We all need meat in the freezer.

I have won the contest or been very close a ton....every time the team has one thing in common - lots of deer killed. Rarely did any of those squads have the giants, they had the does and a lot of bucks of various sizes.

I will get an antlerless down and my standards are looser than any year likely over the last half dozen or so....might be a good thing for the team.

I have three cell cams on my place and one is dead and another is about to be....gonna drive tractor to the cams today before storms hit, deer unphased by tractors and I need that intel with my limited time to hunt due to life LOL. In and out....will keep eye out for rubs and scrapes while driving tractor (in my dress work clothes lol) .

It's strange how they don't mind tractors, but a 4-wheeler is danger. Have had deer come in when I was on the side x side but not a 4-wheeler. I have one Reveal camera that just keeps going through batteries in about a week's time. My last trip to Ohio, I put one of those HME 12v solar battery pack on it and it still stopped sending pictures after a week. I hope you get some good pictures of some shooters. I haven't had any show up yet but I know they will in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah, I am switching over to lithium right now, during off season I run a lot of just regular...should get me through Thanksgiving at least. I also am going to switch to large 12v style in the future - sounds like you may have a cam issue more than battery? Does the Reveal have a battery readout you can tell without going to it?

I have issues with trespassing, but I am risking one on my food source...next year I'm putting a 14 foot 4x4 in the ground where sun will hit it and solar powering it up high and aimed down...someone finds a way to get to it, I'll almost be impressed too much to be mad LOL.

Deer activity at my place is awesome right now in every way except big bucks...but not worried. With cold front hitting Tomorrow afternoon, I wish I had bucks around to hunt but gonna be patient with my small piece and not push it.

I’m going to run a few scrapes to freshen them up this afternoon. I have yet to make it out had a big family thing at my house yesterday so now that’s done and the wife’s list is complete it’s game on. With the big cold front coming in I plan to sit a few days this week in the evening to hopefully get a doe for either myself or my daughter. I have an article to wrap up for game and fish by Friday then the weekend looks promising for a trip to Indiana. It’s only a quarter mile down the road but sounds cool haha.

You Michigan and hunt northern edge of Indiana? If so, and you ever get into a pinch, I'm in Elkhart County so central and within an hour or so either way along the boarder.
