Rifle season report, 10 hunters give or take on the morning or afternoon. One spike buck shot. Some basket racks seen along with a few does and fawns. I will be back in the woods later this week to a couple of bow spots with the trusty string and arrow.
Well change of plans has me potentially hitting the tree tomorrow mid-afternoon in a brand new sit...need the south winds to really hold on more than west...predicted SSW right which I could squeeze it in...if I go, real good chance a slick head walks by that location per cell cams.

It was an eventful evening last night and I was fortunate to have a shot at this guy. I will get pictures posted today sometime and get him scored soon.
I could have shot does every sit this weekend, but letting you have a chance to beat me! Actually, I didn't really have the time to butcher one. Yesterday morning I had 4 of them eating in the alfalfa 12 yards from my lake place. My properties have lots of does, it wont be a problem. Just waiting for the rut to wind down.
oh I know, my biggest issue is time and family health of the wife…she gets feeling better I’ll likely be able to connect just in a hunt or two! Your extra 50 points could be that second buck too (wink wink!)
Lots of sits. Lots of deer. No shooters have given me a shot yet. Back out for an afternoon sit. Last 2 mornings have been cold! High of 60 today. Probably taking a break tomorrow and will not hunt. Been going hard daily now for the last week or so.

I ended up having a pretty good sit. 10 does/fawns a basket 7 point and an unknown that I was catching glimpse of at 100 yards. I'm pretty sure it was a buck because he had its head down the whole time, but it was pretty thick. Just a matter of time.
