My cameras are still showing mature bucks moving at night also. They are getting close to first light but not yet. Here at home, I don't have any mature bucks yet. The biggest so far is a 100" eight point. The mature ones usually show up around 10/31. We're getting closer. I'll be back in Ohio on 10/24. Hopefully, they start daylighting by then. Good luck if you are getting out.
Wife's health has me likely not getting out until "maybe Sunday" morning if at all. I'm saving calling in the grandparents for reinforcement help so I can hunt until the rut....
Sorry to hear about wife. I hope she gets well soon. There’s some respiratory virus been going through our house for 3 weeks. My granddaughter had it first and missed a week of school. My wife got it next and still has it. My son started coming down with it Monday evening. Knock on wood I haven’t got it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The mature bucks are starting to daylight. I had a 130" 10 point on camera yesterday at 8 AM. He ended up back on camera 30 minutes after dark last night.
I got this buck on cam last night on the new local spot. Once the rut kicks in this spot will be hot.
Let's go boys! My cams usually start blowing up around the 21st. I haven't checked cams at my main farm since early September. I'm really hoping last year's buck shows back up this fall!
Congrats on the doe slugger! Great shot you made also. I sat this evening for the 2nd time this season. I saw 15 deer and 4 of them were bucks, but all were young. I had at least 6 does that were chip shots, but I figured out that our brand new fridge/freezer quit working at the lake place right before heading out. So, I really didn't have a great place to deal with a doe tonight. I will definitely shoot a couple of does this year because I am out of venison. New bucks are starting to show up on cams at night. It wont be long. Be safe and enjoy the best time of the year X!
Nice one @Slugger! Our flight got delayed yesterday so I was driving I-94 home at about 1am. Must have passed 100+ deer in 50 miles standing on the shoulder hammering the quick grow mix the road construction crews planted this fall.
Congratulations Slugger! I tried using hemp rope this year with buck butter. Man they love this stuff. Here is one of many examples I have of them hitting it.
I'll be headed back out to Ohio for the weekend on Friday morning. I want to be on stand by 3:00 PM for the afternoon sit. Looks like the weather should be perfect to keep the deer on their feet a little longer in daylight. I'll be in Ohio every weekend from now until December or I tagout.
