Likely shifting plans again due to unforeseen stuff lol...truck tire sprung a leak yesterday...would hold but slowly go from 38lbs to 15lbs in like 3 or 4 hours...I tried for an hour to find the leak last night....finally gave up and put it back on and went to fill it up and that's when I heard the tiniest of whispers coming from the valve stem once I took the cap off...

Work couldn't be avoided as I have some "fun" meetings with some attorneys this morning but was going to hit the tree this afternoon....all will depend when I can get out of work and get this fixed....worst case I chalk it up as still early, no buck worth shooting identified yet and my son's soccer practice can be attended and help coach/herd 6 year olds on a soccer field LOL

I will however add, my cell cams are EXPLODING constantly last week...deer feel safe, just nothing of size that makes me excited as of yet so going to be patient....eventually around the 21st I go if factors indicate being worth it regardless...

Good luck to anyone out there! @Hotrod9 sounds like adrenaline for sure - hopefully you get up and running quick!

I got my truck all loaded up. I'll be heading to Ohio early tomorrow morning so I can be on stand for an afternoon hunt. Deer seems to be really moving in the afternoon. Good luck out there this weekend. I have a strong feeling that someone is going to put one down.

It's great getting out with your kids. Hopefully, she wasn't too discouraged by not seeing anything.

I’m going to drop my bow off at the shop down the street from where I work, should get it back next week I think. Hoping it’s just a string and cable, maybe a cam if it got chipped. I didn’t look closely at it last night. Got home and put the kids to bed.

My 80-year-old father sent me this picture last evening. My just turned 7 years old niece has been begging him to take her hunting for the past couple of years. This was her first time out with him last evening. It's a 6-point. She even put a Band-Aid on it. I'd say she made a great shot, and the smile says it all. That's her 11-year-old sister in the picture with her. She's probably killed at least 11 deer between PA and Ohio.

Hopefully, the cams are ok. Do you have a backup bow or are you sidelined until they get it repaired?

I have an OG Matthews Switchback XT from 2005ish. We are taking our daughter to the MN Wild game for her birthday on Saturday night and making a weekend out of it, then next week Grandma and Grandpa put together a long weekend in Sarasota, FL for them, my family and my brothers family. We get back the 20th, then 3 weeks of bow season until MN gun opener on Nov. 8. Historically based on trail cam data compiled Oct. 25 has the most daylight activity on our property so I will be targeting those days around the 25th for sure.

Got my bow fixed at lunch. It frayed the yokes a little bit but all the guys there agreed that it will last for the hunting season as long as I’m not shooting all day every day practicing. I ordered a new string and cable and will replace it when it comes in. I might get out once or twice before it comes in. Great service by the local bow shop.

That's great news but it's always good to have a backup. I keep a backup in Ohio too.

Back on stand this morning. The biggest buck I’ve seen all weekend was a 7 point at 45 yards. Good luck if you’re going out today.

Only saw a doe and a 7 point this morning. I did see 2 small bucks sparring in the field last evening about 200 yards away.

Apologies for being MIA...life has shifted and wife is down quite ill right now so been solo'ing it essentially which means zero hunting thoughts even allowed LOL

I still however don't have any walking mature deer except Benor who continues to not be even within an hour of daylight. I know his historical preferred entry and property exit points, but also where he prefers to bed once the pre-rut and rut really kick in and he spends time with the does on my place OR when he grabs a doe and tries to isolate her. Strong possibility I'll get a chance at him...but still hoping some of the bigger bucks that are mature start coming back like normal.

Hey guys! Hope all is going well and time on stand is coming soon for everyone. I am headed to Florida for a long weekend with my family for the kids to hang out at the ocean and swimming pool. I plan to start hitting the woods pretty hard next week for the remaining 3 weeks before MN gun opener. Be safe, shoot straight!

Buck activity on cameras is really picking up with the cooler temps and approaching pre-rut. Mature deer are still moving at night, but a couple this morning were still on camera at first light. It is definitely getting closer. Good luck X!
