This recent report given at the Wyoming Game and Gish Commission meeting on Jan. 18, 2018 is very informative and worth your time. Proceed to about the 1 hour and 55 minute mark, it lasts about 60 minutes.
One observation from the report: Poor habitat=Late fawn birth&Smaller fawns=higher predation rate=Less fawns becoming adults adding to the population. Looks like this study is showing what others have done as well. It isn't necessary predators but Poor Habitat that affect game.
