I read on the dnr website that in 2015 we should be able to hunt elk if everything goes as they hope. What are your thoughts about that and how much do you think it would cost to do something like that. I know there would be a lottery I figure it would be close to 200 for the license
Many states now in the East offer the opportunity to hunt elk for herds that have been re-established. Kentucky and PA are two for example. The cost for a resident in PA is $25 and $250 for a non-resident and in addition, the applicant would have a $10.70 non-refundable fee. Good opportunity to create awareness around elk and wildlife habitat.
Dude, if they bring elk hunting to WV i will be all over that. I don't care about the cost. There is no way it would cost as much as going to another state to hunt them.
Pipe dream to draw a tag, but hey there's always a chance. Been putting in for KY Elk tag since it began with no luck to date, even for a cow tag....and that's for the biggest herd east of the continental divide....I can't imagine any other state being easier, besides going out west.
Sounds good to me... Where are the herds even at here? I can definitely say I have never seen one here in the Southern part.
I agree man. They say we have a lot of bear around here but i have only seen two alive in 5 years and the first one i almost hit with my car one day before i even started hunting them.
I would guess they are in the northern panhandle. I have seen several bear I say 5 just last year. The allegany wma has a lot of bear. The first time I ever saw one was there and it was a sow and 3 cubs and on the was out form almost ****in my pants we saw another one. If you guys wanna come up this way we could go huntin together I spend a lot of time in the woods gettin ready
