Looking for a hook style or also called the stringloop style wrist release like the TruFire Hardcore or the Scott RHINO XT. I am not saying that it has to be these two brands or models but just for example of the style I am looking for.
    Thanks - Nippip

Both of those are popular. Also take a look at the Spot Hogg Wiseguy.

My recommendation is to go to a store that Sells them all, shoot them all.

It's pricey but for what your looking for the carter rx-1 is the best in the industry

Tru-fire Hardcore max! By far the best IMO. The fold back feature is worth the money in itself. Thick wrist strap makes it very comfortable as well.

I use a Tru Ball, The Beast 2 and I have no complaints here.

Carters have the best triggers I have used or seen, but you will pay for it too.

Me too, that thing is pretty sweet.

I like the tru ball short and sweet 2 for that price point.

Yeah the TRU Ball Short N Sweet is a good release for the money as well as the Beast series from them....But nothing compares to the Carters IMHO.

Wow, I am amazed that the Carters are that much better to command the prices they do. Too rich for my blood so I will check out the others you all recommended.

One question I am not sure can be answered without seeing my hand but I was reading that you should set the trigger on your second knuckle and I did not know if the Hardcore would have enough adjustment to move the trigger back far enough. Maybe I need to look for a forward trigger if I want to try out the second knuckle style. Any opinions would be recommended.

The foldback feature does seem real handy.

The carters are that good. Amazing triggers and that is what makes a quality release.

Most wrist releases have junk triggers.

    Absolutely.

I never realized how "bad" my old Tru Fire wrist strap release was until I started shooting Carter releases.

My nephew used my carter rx1 yesterday and I think he's getting one. He was set on a short and sweet 2 but he really liked my carter.

Couple other good releases with a good trigger... Hamskea Droptine, Scott Rhino XT. Both of those can be setup with a heavy spring and no trigger pull slop and are great releases... Carter still wins though, lol.
