Want to buy a bow for my 13 yr old son. Looking to get a good bow. Looked at some new ones but a lil pricey for his first bow. Any help would be great. Thanks
I bought a Bear Lights Out bow 4 years ago, and I still use it to this day. Its an awesome bow in my opinion, for an awesome price (I think it was $350 for the bare bow). A little advice though, I would not buy the Ready To Hunt package. I did, and I have changed everything but the quiver so far, and I will probably get a new one sometime. The sight housing was plastic, and it cracked completely off within a year.
I would look into either a mathews mission or menence. adjustable draw lenghts without a press and can go up to 30 inches of draw and peaks out at 60 lbs of draw.
I have a Mathews FX with everything you need: http://mathewsinc.com/product/fx/ Plano Green Hardcase - Arrows - Broadheads - NAP Apache Drop Away Rest - SCOTT Trigger - Peep Site (not installed) - Hind Sight - Doinker 4' - FOBs (if you want them if not will send blazers and glue for you 2 in.) - Extra nocks, glue, etc... Whole kit $350 TYD http://vimeo.com/28909926 Me Shooting it this summer.
I have a bowtech patriot that is a great starter bow if your interested $300 or we could nagociate, it comes set up with everything you need except arrows.
I have a compact High Country that my father bought brand new like 4 years ago. I used it last year or two once we got new limbs put on it. It has quiver, sites, rest and I believe I may even have some arrows that could be cut down. We'd make you a heck of a deal and if you live close enough you can shoot it or pick it up face to face and save even more! We're talking like $160 or prolly cheaper just to get it to a good home. I'll shoot a ton of pictures and such if interested.
I have a Diamond Stud ready to hunt with arrows, BH's, release, I am upgrading this year. $350 if your interested
Mission by Mathews, craze or endeavor, i use the endeavor and my Host brother uses the craze( he is Ten) and he would be able to grow into that bow.
