As long as most of us are already counting the days till the next season begins........

Do you shoot/hunt with or without a wrist strap?

I do. It's never been an issue and I am just too used to having one after all these years.

I just took mine off a few weeks ago. So far no issues.

I do but its loose. I like it for the little added security so I don't drop it after shooting a deer. LOL

Haven't shot with a wrist sling on in years. IMO they're useless.

I just put mine back on. It helps me to keep my grip loose through the whole shot cycle to have it there. Otherwise, I tend to grab the bow on release.

I know it's more of a mental thing or a form flaw but that's my reason for having having on.

What I find odd is that I don't experience the same thing with my recurve. My only guess would be the different shape of the grip.

Just curious, if you don't have a wrist sling then how do you hold the bow after the shot without gripping and torquing the bow?

The shelf sticks out a bit and falls into my my pointer finger and by the time that happens the arrow is long gone. I do have a wrist strap but it isn't tight at all. Can cause torquing if it is tight

Mine is loose also, I just like having the security, knowing I couldn't drop my bow.

Loose grip. Let the bow tip forward into my fingers. If the bow is well balanced, there shouldn't be any torqueing.

I asked the question because I used to use one, because I was told that it would help me hold onto my bow after the shot, but when I got a new bow a couple of years back and didn't have a spare strap and not having the patience to wait until I could get one, I started shooting the bow. After several weeks of shooting, my son asked where my wrist strap was and I told him that I didn't have one and seemed to be fine without one. I still get asked by others where my wrist strap is but I respond that since I shoot a bow that is truly "dead in the hand", I don't need one.
