So, last weekend I put out my Moultrie Gamespy I60. Yesterday, I ran out at night to check it and switch cards. When I got to the camera, it read "Memory Full." I was excited to see this, so i quickly switched cards and ran out of the woods to try and avoid getting some ticks. But, when I got to my truck to check the camera there was a problem. There were not any new pictures. I thought about it for a second and I remembered back to when I went to check the camera. I noticed that the sd card was not in all the way but didn't think anything about it. I came to the conclusion that I must not have pushed the card in all the way when I set it out, and it must have recorded on internal memory. It was getting late and I have homework to finish up, so I decieded to go home and get on my way back tommorow.

Fast forward to tonight. On my way home from a trap shoot, I ran out and got the camera. Now, I don't know about any other cameras but with these Moultries you have to delete the internal memory first before it will let you record with a sd card. So when I got home I grabbed the Tv input cord and plugged it into my camera and started reviewing pictures. Only about 15 pictures/videos of a couple of does and fawns, so I went to delete them. But, when I hit the test/delete button to delete them, they wouldn't delete. It read something "Delete Image?..... DEl Yes,up/no,dwn." I made several attempts and they wouldn't delete. I was confused and thought it was a technical error, because there was no way it could be my fault. I put the card back in to test it to see what would happen, and (sigh) that was my first mistake. I unplugged it and went through the options and the last one said "Delete all images.... No." I thought "There we go," and changed it to yes and hit select. After started to put things away I noticed I couldn't find my sd card. After looking around it finally hit me that I screwed up. I looked on the side, and of course there was the card in the slot on the camera. After a long steady stream of cusses, I took the camera out and deleted the internal memory off the camera, (which strangley had 3 less images on it than it did before, any ideas how that happened?"

So tonight, I will finish my chemistry 2 homework, study for the test tomorrow, and kick myself over being dumb and hasty. I wanted to tell this story so that you guys can be more cautious when you handle trail cameras and not make the mistakes I did. Just goes to show you that when you speed you make mistakes, and those miskates come back to bite ya.

P.S. Yes there were pictures on the card, but thankfully I had the best ones saved on my computer.
More advice to pass on, always have a backup.

Yup. After getting 'bitten' by plenty of my stupid mistakes, i've actually learned to catch myself, slow down and think about what I'm doing.

I think the turning point was after I hiked 3/4 mile up and down hills to get to my hunting spot only have gone in with field points instead of my broadheads  So of course as luck would have it - on my way back to the car at first light, i'm walking down the trail and the biggest doe i've seen up there is just standing broadside 25 yards away

    Oh well..lesson learned.
