FSU still remains the best team. Bama while dropping the game still remains the best SEC team. That's how it goes in football though, every game matters unlike basketball. I still think there is a strong chance of Auburn jumping OSU with or without an OSU loss if they can pull off the mizzou win. Finally got to watch the game and holy hell what an awesome Iron Bowl. I was getting so hyped as the auburn dude ran it back and the stadium turned electric.
Thought this was humorous.... Top five things Alabama Fans hate.... 5. LSU 4. Auburn 3. Life 2. Starting Kickers 1. Backup Kickers
Seems weird how many talk about OSU's weaker schedule when the same should be said about FSU? FSU is going to be playing DUKE for their conference championship? seriously?
I really am hoping for a weird year.....Duke beats FSU, MSU beats OSU. Now what?? I mean the last year of the BCS? Might as well go out with a bang.
OSU has had some very close calls on their weak schedule. FSU has beat everyone by like 4+ TDs including their few big games. Not comparable really. I can't even wrap my head around the implications if Duke and Mich St both win. BCS will have a mess on their hands to sort through.
If Auburn wins the Sec I can see them jumping into the BCS. With the last second wins they've been having and I think ESPN would shut down if a SEC team didn't play for NC. They'll get more votes especially if they win big or OSU or FSU have a close game. Which I think OSU and Mich St will be close. Who knows though could be a wash if few teams lose, heck Bama may not drop down very far in rankings either. It happened like that couple years ago when LSU beat them.
As a die hard Bama fan, i am still reeling from the loss last night. it was a crazy game. We were outplayed, plain and simple. with that being said, it would be awesome to see OSU and FSU lose this weekend and end up with an AL-Aub NC game.
They are #4. If OSU and FSU go down, it will be Bama and the winner of the SEC championship in the NC.
My scenario... Auburn beats Mizzou. Ohio State loses a close one to MSU FSU barely beats Duke Alabama plays for National Championship against Vandy.
Copied this: The numbers show the thinnest of margins between Ohio State and Auburn as it is. And that's before next Saturday -- if both teams win, the Tigers will hold a significant advantage in the BCS computers, as Missouri's considered a more impressive team than Ohio State's opponent, Michigan State, is. A win by either the Spartans or the other Tigers would render all this moot (except for Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs suddenly becoming a huge Mizzou* fan, we trust). * Though Missouri would have a better case for No. 2 than Auburn would, if you ask me, since the (black and gold) Tigers have spent most of the year smashing fools by exorbitant margins. But nobody's asking me. Mizzou's probably too far back to jump that far, barring insanity. If our new Nos. 2 and 3 win their conferences, the polls would be where Florida State finds its Pasadena opponent. While many voters would fall back on the SEC's presumed strength of schedule and difficulty (and most strength of schedule numbers do rate Auburn's as tougher so far), others would sympathize with a 13-0 BCS conference champion that was ineligible last year. The difference could be Urban Meyer, who's successfully stumped his team into a BCS National Championship before -- and that was an SEC team at the expense of a Big Ten team. But do voters still think of Meyer as they did then? Whether Meyer's national profile has changed since '06 due to various controversies would actually matter. Like, actually help determine the season's champion. That's insane and ridiculous, but it's the system. We don't know whether Auburn or Ohio State would win the right to go play FSU if the two played on a neutral field. We don't have a playoff yet, not for 12 more months. We do know the Buckeyes have won all but two of their games by multiple scores, while Auburn's won by a single score six times (including the two luckiest, most improbable winning plays of the year). Auburn's also lost a game by 14 points. Gus Malzahn and Nick Marshall have led an immaculate rebuild, but let's not let that loss be a footnote.
A guy who has won 4 of the last 8 Championships as a college coach at two different schools is done because his team is now 11-1 heading to a BCS bowl because of a fluke play? You are a prophet my friend.
