I shot a doe a little high last year, watched her run for hundreds of yards. Had a feeling it was only a flesh wound, so I got down and got my arrow to find no blood on it, just a greasy, fatty substance. Shot her with a Rage Hypodermic. Now obviously I can't prove that this is her, but this was the exact spot I shot the doe, so I'm going to assume it is her. If someone on the sportsman or outdoor channel would have had this shot placement, it would have been down in sight! LOL!

More than likely that isn't your deer. Your arrow probably was just slightly higher than that. You hit the no zone. Above the spine.

Like I said, hard to prove one way or the other, but that sure looks like a 2 blade entry wound.

Definitely looks like a rage hole...

More evidence that fixed blades are superior:deadhorse:

Bro, are you sure it wasn't one of those Chinese knockoffs? Deer usually die before my real Rages clear the bow :fro:

    Bahaha! Maybe that was it!

Actually what happened was that as I drew back my blades rattled a bit. (I did some research and found that the slight rattle was typical of the 125gr Hypos). But when I started to draw back and they rattled she looked right up at me and froze. We were in a dead lock for a while, I should have held lower with her being alert, but I didn't, and I hit high. Fixed or mechanical wouldn't have made a difference in this case. Clearly I'm wrong, but I didn't think the shot was high enough to go over the spine.

Lol, my bad... I'm not the only one that has had the issue though... I'd check em out if I were you and if there's any noise I'd call rage and ask for different heads. I didn't think they were all that loud, but when the woods are dead quiet they were sure loud.

Put some bow string wax on em. It'll stop the rattling.

I tried Rage Hypodermics 100gr with my 65# Bear Lights Out and lost two deer. I switched back to my tried and true Muzzy 3 blade 100gr. Always successful! And yes that looks like a 2 blade hole. Looks to be just above the lungs and just below the spine.
