Not really sure...depends on how many I've killed at the point I seen him. If none, Yes sir I'd let an arrow fly his way.
Good question. I wouldn't shoot the albino buck I posted. Mainly because of the backlash of 95% of the local community that the hunter would receive for killing this buck. He would get a pass. If this buck was in the middle of nowhere and no one knew about him or had ever seen him, I might. I would shoot the melanistic buck unless it was a neighborhood favorite as well....don't want the backlash.
I was just fixing to say I would if he lived somewhere else . That buck has been around a while , I've seen lots of pics but always thought he lived in an area that allowed no hunting .
I don't care what other people think, they can cry all they want, if it's legal they can kiss my butt - I'm shooting. That's a once in a lifetime opportunity, what good is it for no one to ever shoot it and it just dies of natural causes only for the carcass to be destroyed by coyotes?
I'd pass. I think some things are just better alive. I wasn't going out hunting with expectations of killing a white deer so I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't bring him home. I don't fault anybody for taking him though. If it's legal, fire away.
As for backlash, this bow hunter would take the Buck regardless of being politically correct or liked by the on lookers. If others are opinionated about what a bow hunter takes as legal game, they can express their concerns elsewhere.
If it's white, goodnight. I absolutely would. If people wanted to look at him, they can come to my house and stare at his full body mount. For a nominal fee, of course.
Instantly I would!!! I would ride with it in my truck bed too through the town with the tail gate down, then go grab dinner at the local diner with it still in my truck!!! but seriously, YES I would shoot. I'm a hunter it's what I do. I provide food for my family. I DO NOT tip toe around the feelings of non-hunters and worry about "backlash"...if you do, then the ANTI'S have already won!!
Totally agree. I don't try to be a redneck and do sme of the stuff you mentioned lmao. I try to respect that some kids or people are Squimish around blood etc. but by no means am I one of those hunters who hide the fact they hunt to prevent pissing people off. My truck is littered in stickers, I have no problem stopping for beer on way home after a successful deer hunt. I have no problem hanging it garage with door open while we butcher and skin. I have no problem with antlers all over my house .... Oh wait I a, that redneck lmao
Not sure if I would. This question came up near me last gun season because of this story. Click Shooting of white deer was legal, but violates towns' informal code : Wsj
I'm not worried about what the ANTI'S think. We get backlash from them for just being a hunter, regardless of what we hunt. You'll never please them unless your eating granola three meals a day. The backlash that I would worry about would be from hunters and nonhunters (nonhunters aren't necessarily ANTI'S) that would rather see this buck walking around as opposed to in the back of my truck....especially since I'm trying to run a business in the local community. Just things that I would consider before sending an arrow his way. I wouldn't begrudge some one for taking him if that was their choice. It's legal in MO so have at it. But, it's illegal in Cape Girardeau city limits where this buck lives anyway, so all this is just a conversation topic. An interesting one, I think.
