Would you shoot a smaller buck in velvet that would not shoot with hard antlers?

I'll be on the minority here. I would take a smaller velvet over holding out. There's probably at best up to a few days to get velvet here and I think it would look sweet to have a euro done with it. I wouldn't do a spike or fork, but pending what showed and how I felt at the time I won't rule out going for it.
Here's my disclaimers I'll add after that:
This is my second season with a bow so I probably have lower standards/potential than others that have hunted many years
I plan on some recurve hunting this season and can't be confident to put myself within my range for big bucks
My personal thought is velvet bucks look sweet
I'd also lower size for uniqueness also. A funky looking rack to me would be sweeter than just inches and typical.
My standard I'd like to stick with at this season is 100" or better, but I'm not a diehard at this point in my life that i won't vary from that
I do apologize in advance for if I am successful in harvesting a velvet buck and it in any way negatively affects anyone else's season and/or hunting career, and hope their seasons turn out as they personally desire.

I'd lower my standard by 30-40 inches assuming the buck I harvested scored 180 or higher. :p In short , I am with the others. Velvet doesn't do much for me.

All we have to go off of is the indisputable video evidence.

Velvet bucks are unique to bowhunters because only bowhunters get to hunt the season early enough to kill a velvet buck. However, I wouldn't shoot a smaller buck just to have one in velvet. A shooter is a shooter.

    Yeah Tyni...
Isn't this just generally accepted as a law of the universe or sump'n? I'd tell Tyni to get a clue but I'm afraid it might rip a hole in the fabric of space time.

What, did you miss a deer on video?
The only time I miss deer is when I think they need another year and need educated about hunter awareness. A few well placed misses helps the deer out.

I would. I wouldn't lower my standards by much. But I'd love to take a velvet buck.

There was a 10 year stretch where I educated dozens....Lol...that video was the end of that stretch....I went on to take 5 with a bow the next 3 years. The 4th year was last season....I started a new drought...

I'll be in the minority here. Yes, because a "trophy" is in the eye of the beholder. And to me a velvet buck would be a trophy.

No. I don't see the fascination with a velvet rack. I'd much rather shoot a big rut neck swollen buck over a skinny necked, thin haired velvet buck. But, to each his own....
