Only bullcrap. I've got to go get to work mowing pasture and don't really want to go...Just got everything greased and seed/pollen blown out of the radiator. Besides it's a holiday.
Time for me to go to bed. Wish Velvetbuck was here to tell me a story. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesssshhhhhhhh Wow. That was hysterical. That guy was definitely more qualified for the glue sniffing committee. I was a little late to reply, but had I came before the funeral I would have definitely suggested a talk with masterhunter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

He was just a single parent trying to feed his family on Illinois public land because a-holes would not lease him land.

This is a prime example of why handing out participation trophies, is not a good thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What county do you live in? I've scouted, hunted, and killed deer on public here in IL and have found some pretty decent hunting. I'd say from my experience the pressure here isn't any more or less than I've seen on public in other states I've hunted in previously. I previously lived and hunted in the Northeast and Vermont, New York, and PA all had similar amount of pressure. It's not just an IL thing.........you've got to be willing to put in work and find the better spots if you want success.
This perplexes me. If you've been scouting appropriately and put in the time, you should have had success about 8 years ago! I hunt public land too, mostly DNR land and its tough going, no doubt...but 8 years?! I can understand the frustration. My advice would be to never give up! Perhaps you guys are missing something. I'm not saying you guys don't know what you're talking about. But there must be a missing piece to this puzzle somewhere. Best of luck! Maybe the 2017 season will bring some luck your way!
