This was meat grown by using cells from an organic cow. The cells were grown in calf serum, which is just blood from a calf fetus. I'm still trying to understand what you guys are finding unnatural about this? This has no added preservatives or anything? It's meat.
If any of you have had KFC in the 6 years you probably had something that was grown in a lab. "Mutant Tumors" have been around awhile and they are starting to hit mainstream food sources. Even if you say hell no you probably already ate it and never knew.
I enjoy being an educated hunter gatherer. I feel the cycle of my life is whole and completes me as a person.
I believe they had to add coloring and flavoring is what the article stated due to it being yellow in color. I think there are many useful applications for the technology used here. Filling my belly isn't one of them..
Obviously it's not perfect. But it's the proteins in meat that gives it color. And most of the meat you buy in grocery stores has been dyed. If given the choice, I'd probably choose the "natural" beef as well, but I'm not going to be so ignorant and claim that I would never try the lab grown stuff. I've consumed Taco Bell before, my body is ready.
I have to agree. Meat that is grown in a lab and not raised in the wild or on a farm, ain't no way in HELL going in my stomach!!!!
I remember several years back I got asked to be part of the test group on the new MRE's the Army was trying out. When I heard one of them was going to be a catfish MRE, I said hell no! Some things just aren't meant to be eaten lol
Because I'm quite certain everyone in this thread would eat this and claim it was delicious with the proper packaging/marketing.
Neither is the color of my wifes hair.... My question wasn't is it natural, clearly it isn't. A large majority of the food we eat isn't natural. Even the "natural stuff"
Maybe, maybe not. Personally I like to think not... There is some pretty good packaging and marketing for tofu but I won't eat that.
