Lol, hasn't anyone explained to her that she can't take bucks on the management tags? Why would her husband even give her a gun if she's inexperienced and acting like that.

Sounds like they are trying to work with you at least. I'd be happy with the advances you've made so far and keep trying to steer the situation for the best. Good luck.

Don't know how I missed this thread Ty. Boy, sounds like you're between a rock and a hard place on this. Glad the number of permits is low and limited to just you 4. Hopefully the wife was just jerking your chain and wasn't really serious about shooting one of the big boys.

Yeah it truly could have been worse like many of you stated...Covey I have no clue why the couple does or thinks some of the way they do. I believe we have made real headway with the owner....his wife hopefully will listen, but in all honesty she doesn't have the patience to hunt probably longer than a half hour so hopefully nothing stupid happens.

In the meantime next week I'll be setting up post with the muzzleloader or shotgun waiting on does to file out to feed....

Well update...the owner and wife haven't so much as thought of hunting pop's and I have had life turn to full throttle lately so haven't found time either till last night when pops finally hit the property for a doe. Of course hunting for does only and he would have a bachelor group of bucks (one he said was a huge 8) came within 20 yards but all the does stayed well over 200 yards away....I'll be hitting the property Friday and possibly Saturday.....I hate that we have to do this but it is all about keeping the owner happy.

Sometimes life really sucks. I'm kind of in the same position a little bit. The property I manage, property owners rules that anyone hunting has to harvest at least one doe before chasing antlers. I know it needs to be done but I'm even more picky on does than bucks. Not too young, no fawns...it's a pretty tall order early in bow season to find a doe that fits both. (those are both my own rules)

I just don't get people that get frustrated about what property owners want done on the land that they bought and paid for. I used to allow people to hunt my land when I was too busy to hunt and I allowed it on my terms. People that get to use land for free should never complain about the terms. Imagine if the property owner read this post how would they feel about the opinion of the OP? I know if it was me I would show you to the property line and tell you not to let the gate hit you in the *** on the way off my land

Sota, the landowner and us have an awesome relationship and very open about the frustration at times we have. We stress to him in the end we do exactly as he desires. We go way above the call when it comes to doing work for him around his property from clearing entire tree line for him this summer (over 100 trees cut back, stacked), planted over 30 trees paid for by us, mow all his trails and assist in anyway we possible can. It is merely just different views on deer hunting is all. As I've stated if you read the entire thread I overracted quite a bit, because of the frustration of how he originally was gonna let immense numbers of anyone really come trouncing around which would ruin the ground for us and him during hunting season.

It has all kinda blown over to an extent now as he hasn't even desired to hunt and use any of the nuisance tags yet...and his beans are looking amazing save the first row by where they come into the field...does not appear as bad as originally thought.

Sota, I respect what you have to say and a lot of merit is to it in that we must be careful how we approach thoughts and feelings of frustration. I overstressed my frustration in a sense as I've stated but it is frustrating year after year to be told certain things only to have things change, which is what has occurred on this property...so we keep offering to do more each off season. In the end we have a place to hunt which is an immense blessing and in the end is all that matters, whether it is setting up great to down a big buck isn't something I should let dictate my frustrations.

Glad to see it all worked out for you. I can understand your frustration when you put all that work into something.
