Depends on what I am in the mood for. The NFL sucks, but college football is great. Womens tennis is hard to beat sometimes too.
So a pitcher walking around the mound while the batter adjusts his gloves and scratches his nuts is considered "action" time? There are also breaks between half innings
Obviously this is opinion and subjective but for me it's baseball. They should have a pitch clock just like they have a shot clock or play clock in basketball/football. I think if the pitcher doesn't throw the ball before the clock runs out it's an automatic ball and if the batter isn't in the box it's an automatic strike. There's no reason a baseball game should last as long as they do. I also think the time between kickoffs and first offensive play in football should be reduced. Unfortunately sports are all about sponsors these days, which is half the problem.
A study done by The Wall Street Journal revealed that during an average 3 hour baseball game you will see 17 minutes and 58 seconds of action time. Granted you only get to watch five minutes and change watching balls in play. During an average football game you will see 11 minutes of action time. In America's Pastime, Baseball Players Pass A Lot of Time Football - 11 Minutes of Action
Nap time = baseball, golf, and nascar! I don't know how anyone could ever watch baseball. I'd go out on a limb and say golf is more exciting/entertaining. As for Nascar, there are two reasons why people watch it. Big wrecks and the finish. All of which you will see in the highlight real on ESPN. I like napping more than I like any of the above sports. Don't tell my wife that! :Less afternoon ZZZZZZZZZs. :p
I honestly don't know if I would call NASCAR a sport, but it's something I still enjoy and appreciate. It's just different and not a game like traditional sports so I just don't think I could compare it to sports like football, baseball, basketball, etc. Going to the action time study that MnHunterr mentioned, I would take those 11 minutes of football action over 18 minutes of baseball "action" any day of any week.
Tennis. NASCAR on the other hand i can watch every race and the whole race too. Something about them going 200+ mph and being bunched that keeps me interested.
Yeah, I guess it depends on if you watch it live or from the TV. I've been to football games, hockey games, basketball games, and baseball games. I still pick football when it comes to the type of action. Basketball is now a bunch of floppers who wouldn't last a full game in the 80s or 90s and baseball is well, baseball.
I would say Soccer followed by NASCAR...There is just not enough to keep me interested in watching. I like watching golf only because I love to play and can relate to thought processes that run through your mind before every shot.....I can definitely understand why some dread to watch it though...
I will give it to golf, that they do a good job at making sure they are mostly showing action. They jump from player to player. Soccer I think is one that only people that have played the sport can really appreciate.
The reason I like golf is because of the drama. Guys crashing under pressure. Guys putting pressure on each other. You need to have full control of your nerves or you will choke.
Probably Golf or soccer for me. I will say since MMA got big, boxing is almost unwatchable to me now but maybe that's just me.
NBA Football Golf Tennis Baseball I can only sit through one whole game, and thats one where they play hockey!
