Same here. I wanted a 08 NC rematch. Think it would have been a great game. Wis, NIU, and Louisville have no business being in the games. Auto bids need to be thrown out!
61 carries in two years, LOL Busted big runs against who? It looks like he just gets scrub time, he's a bust.
I'm not saying anything negative about Meyer or the fact that he may change game plans...but this has to be the lamest excuse ever. QBs have proven time and time again that they can be successful in colder climates (NFL plays in much harsher than college environments and seemingly most of the greats played up North). Meyer may change it up if he brings in stud RBs (all great coaches tweak their plan according to their teams strengths)...but his offense will never showcase a RB similar to how Alabama will never showcase a QB. Offensive game plans just don't match up.
I take nothing in account from last year. Fick and Bollman were not ready to lead a peewee team to battle last year. Smith does not really play mop up time. He gets reps in certain formations throughout the game. What mop up carries were had this year were given to Dunn for the most part.
Hooker, sorry about that. I just reread my post and that was meant to say Florida...not LSU. Florida loses to Georgia...Georgia blows the SEC championship so Florida gets the BCS bowl game against Louisville. I'd rather see Georgia play Nebraska, should be an exciting game. Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't paying attention when I wrote that.
I didn't say that, nor do I expect to see that. I said there will be changes and tweaks from what he ran in FL. Where did you get the impression that I was saying that? Like I do not know where all the good Qb's come from
What do you know about this Barrett kid? Looks like Hoke is getting the best talent out of Ohio these days, I like it.
I know he is from Texas and was the #1 QB on tOSU's board. I know he suffered a season ending knee injury a few weeks back. What top talent? Solid talent yes, elite talent, no. D. Thomas is the only Ohio kid you guys got that wasn't a left over. You got him on Fick's watch, Fick didn't even offer him. Again, Fick wasn't ready for peewee league. tOSU wanted Conley from UM, he decommited from UM and will go to tOSU.
I disagree. As long as Urbs has an athlete at QB, which he likely will be able to recruit every year, he will ride that QB as far as he can. Tebow was a perfect example. Had Cam Newton stayed at UF he probably would have broke a lot of Tebow's rushing records. Same thing with Braxton Miller at OSU. Heck, if Urban was still at Florida Driskel would probably getting ready to go to NYC as a Heisman finalist. I have no doubt he'll tweak his offense, but like Trevor said, Urban's offense is never going to come remotely close to featuring a running back. The one season he didn't have the QB he needed for his offense (John Brantley), he got mad and quit.
How exactly are you disagreeing with me, you are saying the same thing I did. I said tweak his offense, not a whole sale change. His offense has been somewhat different at every stop from Bowling Green to Utah to Florida and now Ohio State.
I guess I'm not disagreeing with you, just reinforcing that the success of his offense will solely be dictated by his QB. Yes, his offense has changed a little at each school, but one thing has not. He's won when he's had a QB that could shoulder the weight of the entire offense. Josh Harris, Alex Smith, Tebow, Braxton Miller. He's not going to have a Trent Richardson type RB who can win games for him, or a go to WR like Marquis Lee to make plays. When he has the right players, he'll be very, very successful. When doesn't, expect the same type of seasons UF had in 2010.
Its funny when fans of Michigan and The Ohio argue over bowls and other teams. Coming out of the big 10 its like listening to two people arguing over who has the best house in the worst neighborhood. In 2012 the big 10=weak.
Says the guy out of ACC country.. LMAO! Aren't they 2-12 in BCS games? Last check tOSU is 6-3 in BCS games... That's right 3x more wins than your entire conference combined.
