This poor girl, I just want to hug her.
So what do you think, ancient doe or birth defect or both?

I am thinking old and injured. With that split ear you might notice her in pictures from years past.

I recall seeing her last year on the same plot but she had twins last year. I can't seem to find her pic out of the multitudes I saved last year but I know it's the same doe. She didn't have any fawns this year as far as I've been able to see and this was about the 10th pull I've had her on camera. That alone makes me think she's old anyway but she also has extremely saggy skin under her eyes.
I'm pretty convinced she's probably about twelve years old but that snout is either a birth defect or injury so I'm guessing shes both old and a birth defect. Whichever, I didn't see any evidence she passed the trait on to the fawns last year. I wouldn't mind if she passed along the long live gene though .

Does often get their noses broken when battling with other does... I have watched them stand and kick the crap out of each other.

I'd have to guess if not a broken nose then surely a birth defect...
