So even though the Detroit fans thought they were going to beat the Rangers, the Rangers are headed to another World Series.

No one thought we could get past Verlander.........meh, he wasn't anything special. The Rangers still won with crappy starting pitching. The Ranger bats are getting hot and the bull pen is looking great. I don't know a lot about the Cardinals other than they've been the underdog in every series

    Thought on the series? Predictions?

    Rangers in 6

Cardinal season opens in the state of Texas today:biggun::D

The Cardinals had a good run but I believe It will come to an end as the Rangers will win I believe. In how many games, not sure. Starting pitching sucked with every team In the ALCS and NLCS. Offense won out this time Instead of starting pitching and defense.

The Cards won the world series when they beat the Phillies. This series is just a formality.

Yes, I agree we won when we beat the phillies. I have a hefty wager (non monetary) that cards will win. I say cardinals in 5! Cards must be doing something right, as this is the third time in 6 years we've won the pennant.

The first 2 games at home for the Cards are huge. I think if they don't win both, then they are in a small bit of trouble. Loshe and Jackson in that ballpark on the road has to scare the crap out of any Cardinal fan.

They almost have to get a great game out of Carp tonight, and Garcia has been money at home all year. Also, Game 2 features the only Rangers starter who is a righty, so they have to take advantage of that. The Birds do not hit lefties good at all (see Randy Wolf from NLCS Game 4 for example).

I think the team that gets the best starting pitching wins the series. I think the Cardinals have the better shut down type ace in Carpenter, but I believe the Rangers have better depth 1-4 for the starters. Both have lineups that are stacked, and both have great bullpens. The DH rule will not hurt the Cardinals, since it allows for Berkman or Holliday to get out of the field, and Allen Craig kills left handed pitching, and that is what he will face for all 3 games on the road.

The Cardinals almost seem to have this special kind of swagger around their team this year. They just don't have any kind of quit in them, and they have proved it by beating the Phillies and the best pitching rotation in MLB history, and taking down the Brewers in the NLCS. I do think the Redbirds may be the underdogs in this one thought.

I don't know who will win, but I do think the series will be decided back in St. Louis during Game 6 or 7. I will also make the prediction that neither Nelson Cruz or David Freese are mentioned in MVP talks. Cruz is way too streaky, and Freese just finished the best 6 game stretch of his life.

I might be at the game tomorrow night, and might snag tickets for Game 6 or 7 if it makes it that far. I was there in '06 when they won the series against the Tigers, and nothing can really explain the atmosphere around Busch Stadium for a World Series game.

Everything on paper suggests the Rangers will win this series. But as they say, that is why they play the games. Texas' biggest obstacle might be having to overcome the mojo this Cardinals' club seems to have. They've been counted out every step of the way but somehow keep prevailing. How much longer can that magic continue? Either way, Texas' depth throughout should deliver the city of Arlington its first-ever championship.

I was 13 rows behind home plate when Steven Tyler sang the national anthem. Not sure what game it was, but was sitting within 50 yards of him. Was pretty awesome. Great company seats of an ex girlfriend of mine.

WHOA WHOA WHOA....No dog in this fight, but best rotation in the history of MLB...Nah, we had some guys named Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz going for us at one time, they all 3 currently reside on Cooperstown. That is all from this disgruntled Braves fan...

Going to let tonight's game decide whether I hunt tomorrow. Didn't plan on going with the winds being high. But if the red birds win, I'll go hunting, wind it not.
