I find it amazing you were so locked in on the announcing while witnessing one of the greatest feats in world series history.

Easy to look like a real great pitcher when the opposing team is swinging at anything you throw. Royals folded like a a cheap decoy.

So they did that for 270 pitches?

Last AB I agree with but he set that up with the previous 260 pitches. lol

Yep...he's not that great a pitcher. Some players get an air about them that just intimidates other players. He should be pretty good, no telling how much vitamin D he gains from all the sunshine blown up his @$$ from everyone in the media.

He did have the greatest world series ever as a pitcher. What has come before or after is irrelevant.

Why can't you guys just admit, regardless of who you were for that you just witnessed the best pitching performance ever in a world series and be thankful for it.

I'm a Cardinals fan and the Giants put them out. Naturally I rooted for a NL team to win and got treated to an unbelievable performance by a pitcher that I will never witness again.

    Enjoy it.

Not a great pitcher? Seriously? What Bumgarner did to the Royals and the rest of the teams he faced in the post season was historic. No other pitcher has done what he did. If the Giants don't have Bumgarner, they don't win the series IMO. He deserves all the vitamin D he gets. No one did it for him. Intimidation is part of the game and frankly the hitters had no idea what to do when he came in the game. Bumgarner isn't the only professional out there, the batters are too. They swung at pitches at their chin; why? Because they had no idea what to do.

The Royals beat Oakland in 1, they beat Anaheim in 3, they beat Baltimore in 4..............and then they ran into San Francisco. The team that doesn't really know what to do but win any way possible. The only other 7 game series that compares I've seen is the ALCS between Boston and NY in 2007.

I think you can sum it all up with this... The Giants beat the Royals; unfortunately the Royals couldn't beat Bumgarner.

I agree completely! I don't know if I'll ever see a more amazing individual performance in my life time. I'm just glad he's a Giant!

MadBum is a great pitcher. He was before these playoffs, all this did was solidify it on a national stage.

Because I feel more like I witnessed the poorest batting ever rather than the greatest pitching. He doesn't throw that hard, he just throws junk and the Royals were stupid enough (or something else) to chase it all over. They could have won on walks alone had they been smart enough to just take pitches rather than swing at crap at their chins...that's just stupid...not good pitching. Look at the slow motion captures, the Royals batters were closing their eyes and just swinging...real ball players don't do that.

Professional sports are all mob operated shams, you can tell who is going to win by the partiality of the announcers before and during the games. Just like wrestling and the Harlem Globetrotters, the Royals were just there as an opponent

Until the Royals can make an adjustment and stop being such an undisciplined hitting team, they will always struggle against elite pitchers. They always struggle against the better pitchers, and fatten up against the average and below average pitcher. Those elite pitchers know that they almost never even have to throw a strike because the Royals will help them out by chasing un-hitable pitches. Baumgardner is a great pitcher, there's no doubt, but he didn't even have to work hard to get the Royals batters out and he knew it.

As for Joe Buck, he's a tool. He was homing for the Giants all series long. You all should go back and watch game 6 again and listen to him. Ventura was lights out, and he hardly talked about him the entire game, yet I guarantee he mentioned Baumgardner, who wasn't even playing, no less than a hundred times. I'll be honest, I was watching my Royals in the World Series for the first time in 29 years and I couldn't even enjoy it because Buck was ruining it for me. Shame on you Buck and shame on Fox for letting him do it. I never really liked him, now I just want to kick him in the nuts!

Like I tell my son. If they're going to swing at it there, throw it there.

That's how pitching works. He was locating his pitches and getting outs.

This was his 3rd world series and he has won all 3, only at 25 years old.

Like it or not, he's become one of the greats.

Greg Maddux probably wasn't a great pitcher either....

Your goal as a pitcher is to make hitters swing at bad pitches.

The 1991 WS between the Twins and the Braves was a damn good one too.

Well let me say it. Baumgarder wasn't pitching to the same strike zone as any of the Royals. HE GOT SEVERAL CALLS that any other pitcher wouldn't get. That really helps a pitcher out and makes it damn near impossible for the batters.

Call it whatever you want. Go back and watch the pitches. Even Harold Reynolds commented on it that he got a couple that were not even close. So, you got a great pitcher and give him the advantage of getting pitches he doesn't deserve. Blue must have been listening to Joe Buck's call and realize that Baumgarner was the second coming of Jesus.

Actually, I noticed it but I noticed it early that blue had a wide zone. He was calling it both ways but both teams weren't smart enough to take advantage.

That's something else I always tell my son. If blue is calling it a strike, throw it there.

My son pitched a shutout and lived just off the plate because blue was calling it.
