just like to get some ideas on how to help the deer on just 10 acres. its all wooded and I cannot cut down the trees. there is also no water on the property. it has some acorn trees and various plants as food but there are no fields close as this property sits in the middle of 2 streets with scattered houses on both streets. Question is what can I do to help draw and hold deer in this area. I know corn works since I used that last year.

You cannot do any cutting, planting or anything? If that is the case learn to hunt the movement already present...if none...nothing can be done. (I don't bait so that is not an option for me, but IF LEGAL than that could be an option if it is one you are okay with.)

Now the layout screams it could be a good travel corridor...is it close to bedding of any kind? Small spot like this that can be slipped into could be good if close to potential bedding...

maybe put in a mineral site. But as stated already this seems to be a major travel corridor or bedding area. Do you have any aerial photos?

I cannot go any farther than that to the north east of the map as that is fort knox military reservation.

Where is that? Near 60? I hunt Knox yearly and it looks like the area between main gate and 60.

If there is no water you could dig a hole by hand and put a 110 gallon water tank from Tractor supply most of the way in the ground, I filled mine half full and let mother nature do the rest and during the rut really attracts the bucks. Scoot

I would maybe set a few trail cams around and see when the deer are moving through there.

I have a mineral site on my 9 acres and a corn feeder (just to feed not to hunt over) and I do throw and grow plots with minimal sunlight and they still grow just fine. This year I plan on putting in a small watering hole with a used coy pond liner. I have deer travelling all over my property. Now I will admit they do eventually venture off once the late winter months come to get food from the fields a few hundred yards away but the goal is to get one during the fall anyway.

Mineral site/s and a feeder are a no brainer.
If that's the only lot of that size in the area...it's probably already hammered with deer usage anyway unless the local pets use it for a playground.

deer sign is everyway, just in this little area i have atleast 15 different trails used heavily. i tried the throw n grow and i just dont get the sunlight needed to get the stuff to grow. i planned on putting 2 watering holes in and a mineral site that sits kinda between those two holes.

I talked the land owner and she is going to let me cut down a few trees. this will give me about a 15yd x 15yd where I can plant a food plot and it will get some. I bought some throw and go, question is now do I plant some in spring and just reseed in fall or just wait til fall to plant?

Wow, surprised I didn't see this but it never showed up for me as a new post.
I'd plant it now and reseed it for fall. I'd want to put a camera out there and see what hit the plot long before fall and get them used to the idea of food being there.

Yeah but they are not used to a 15yd x 15yd clear cut with food in it.

ok will do, ill put my camera out on it as soon as i lay down the seed which is yet to be determined because when i think its turning into spring, winter just slaps me in the face again. this weather is so weird, saturday it was like 70 degrees and sunny and then sunday dropped to 35 and gave us 1/2 inch of ice and an inch of snow.

You definitely need to wait until winter is done ! I assume you know you will need to cut down the trees you want and then roundup everything and clear the ground with a rake and such... you need seed to soil contact. You should aslo buy some fertilizer to put down.
