Anyone use wool outer wear? I am thinking of trying some and would like ideas on what people are using

The only wool outerwear I have and use is/was made by Weatherby. I love it late season, warm and quiet. My guess is most guys here are going to tell you Grey Wolf Woolens.

Are you layering with wool also. I've got ulfrotte wool base layer catalog coming and will be ordering some. Thanks for the weatherby tip, it looks like global warming has run its course and we are back to real winters in eastern iowa

I layer with wool, the only thing I don't like about it is that I'm a bit OCD when it comes to washing my hunting clothes. I have a Woolrich buffalo check wool shirt though that is absolutely awesome as a middle layer over my polartech fleece base layer, when it's super cold. With the Polar Fleece base layer, Woolrich wool shirt, and then a Predator Fleece outer layer, I've sat single digits and been plenty warm.

I've got one wool garment....and I love it. With NC temps, I got the Filson Mackinaw wool vest. It's versatile, and I use it as a mid layer on a lot of my hunts. If I hunted in really cold temps a LOT, I'd order a complete wool suit in a hertbeat.

I use it, I wear wool socks, a cabelas wool sweater for layering, GFAsbell wool Mackinaw Pullover and I just picked up some of the cabelas Wooltimate on sale for 50% off! The Wooltimate is very warm, I wore it late season in below zero temps and never even got the slightest chill!

Yesterday while rabbit hunting with my Longbow, I crossed a stream, just before I went up the other side my foot went thru the ice, boot got water in it. I took my boot off, poured out the water, wrung out my wool sock and was good to go, my foot never got cold! I swear by wool now a days!
