Hey all, I live in central Indiana. We have a couple barns and there are Yellow jackets that have basically infested one of them. The barn is open faced and they are in the wood boards around the top.
Does anyone know a way to get rid of these?

I don't think what you have is yellow jackets. It sounds like wood bees. I get them in my deck some years. I have sprayed wasp killer in their holes with some success. I've been told spraying bleech and water mixed 50/50 will also keep them away, but haven't tried that yet.

I got a ton of wood bees around my old barn. While they are aggravating, they seem to be harmless to people, I've never had one sting me and I've been all around them.

Yeah, we've never had an issue either, but I'd rather get rid of them than find out the hard way. Especially since it's the barn up near the house and I don't want the kids playing around them.

I'll try that bleech / water mixture idea. Sure can't hurt anything.
