I just love turkey season!
Going to Nebraska again this year. Love going early season when they are all grouped up. Those merriams are very vocal early season but not call vulnerable. Anyone go out of state to turkey hunt?
Probably just stick to these mountain birds in NC. Gonna see if I can keep the trend going for success after moving back here with a bow kill on a gobbler. Never pulled it off before.
Had 3 Toms, 1 had over 1 1/4" spurs, and 7 Jakes come thru Sunday while smoking ribs. They never hang around for season. Live in Maryland, go back to Jersey to hunt Turkeys, may venture into western MD or PA for change of scenery. Just put in for lottery tags in Jersey, getting closer!
Want to also get a chance to take 1 with bow, never even tried, always chicken out and take gun.
I have only killed two with a bow. I always try the first couple days with a bow and end up switching to gun. This year I'm going to stick it out with a bow.
