We are planning to head down in the next couple months; it's only about 2.5 hours drive for us. It wasn't open yet last time I was that way. I met Mr. Morris in 2000 and chatted him up for about 10 minutes with Bill Dance standing there. I couldn't get over how humble and grounded the owner of Bass Pro was, and I was impressed by the man. Glad to see that he has helped create this amazing place and look forward to going. BTW: Bill Dance is hilarious and a great guy as well.

So it is an aquarium with mounted animals and artifacts? rather than a zoo?

That is a closer description than a zoo, but it is also a museum telling the history of conservation in the USA

Wife and I took the kids here over Christmas break. We thoroughly enjoyed it. There is one room in particular that I lingered in for quite some time, and I imagine any of you who visit will as well. It literally has hundreds of Buck mounts. The time stamp on our ticket purchase was 1 o'clock, we walked out at 5:30 and skipped a large amount of exhibits due crowds. There is enough there to make it a two day plan. We will be back for sure.

**edited to drop a couple pics in ( sorry for quality, was chasing a 13 month old most of the time)
