FYI, USMC Officer Infantry Course opened it doors to women volunteers this past fall. None of them managed to make it through the course. Just some more food for thought. When I graduated USMC OCS, there were only a few women in the graduating female platoon worthy of combat arms, I'd say 1 or 2.

This^^^^ If they pass the same exact physical and mental requirements then I don't see why anyone shouldn't be allowed that wants to. To me if a woman can perform on the same level, both physically and mentally, and actually wants to do it they aren't that womanly or feminine to begin with. So I say don't deny them that chance to do what they want in serving their country. That is as long as they can perform on the same level.

I'd stay near Christine in a firefight.

I don't think its a question of physical or mental requirenents, I agree they should haveta pass the same standards that are in plsce today for men. I think its more of a problem when and if these women are in combat it will cause to many distractions, if they get hit and go down how many of the men making advances wil stop or hault advance to chrck on her. No matter how hardcore a man in combat his women/children at the very least bring morale down quite a bit when they get injured. Mean seriously look at the outrage from the Lynch thing, what's gonna happen if that's a common occurrence. I was a combat engineer and marine security guard in my 4.5 years and could easily count on one hand the wm's that could be in combat, as in first ones through not bringing up the rear.

If his father had finished the first one, there would have been no need for the second one.

If Clinton had taken out Al Quida when he had the chance including OBL 911 may have never happened. I wouldn't rush to blame the President though for what some nut jobs did.

This is the point that needs to be made. I was in a combat arms MOS in the Marines, and physically women could have done my job, but less than 1% would have been able to complete the training i had to go thru to get to that point. If they can meet the same standards as the men are required go for it, but less than 1% will meet those requirements, and i would venture to guess 0 will qualify as grunts or the more elite untis. How much money is going to be wasted on training for a week just to have the ladies drop out?

How much money is wasted for men to drop out? I doubt that you have the same ratio of women competing for combat arms as you do for other MOS. I doubt that you would spend anything more for women compared to men to drop out as im sure their "species" are smart enough to realize that its going to take alot to complete the training. I dont have any hard numbers as neither do you, but the cost to train Soldiers to become warfighters are alot less than the fraud waste and abuse that runs rampant throughout the military. Its only fair that they be given a fighting chance like the men.

Just heard panetta say they are going to make gender neutral standards for the combat MOS. That is code for watered down standards. This is part of Obamas agenda of weakening our country.

God made women for man and not to be doing a mans job. Im not saying they can't do it but they're emotions...I think could/would get in the way of them doing they're job. Just my thoughts!!

Will they be issued grenades? Because, what if they throw like a girl....could really be dangerous.
