This will be my first year hunting so I wanted to see what other woman use for shampoo & conditioners, etc.
Should I buy the woman's products or just do unscented soaps from the store?
    What do u use?

not a woman, but just FYI I use scent killer body wash, it's unscented and also has stuff in it to kill body odor... 3 days in the woods without deodorant, and still can't smell my armpits... I don't have hair on my head, but sure ya could shampoo with it as well... :D

Ive heard of guys using the scentless products to save money. At the end of the day what matters most is playing the wind. We have all heard stories of guys smoking and shooting one or whatever. Its because of wind direction more then anything. I personally use the hunting specific products because that's what they were made for. But for all I know I am paying double for the same product lol

Unfortunately hair retains scent extremely well, as you know. So any fragranced stuff you use will be detectable for a while. I've seen unscented body wash and products specifically for women, however it's all the same. Any unscented deodorant or unscented dove soap will work. I use the hunting stuff before I go hunting and unscented dove soap whenever I'm not going hunting from September through January (the CT bow season).

My girlfriend has long hair and she uses my scent killer shampoo (they dont make a conditioner that I know of) and she has a hell of a time getting a brush through her hair. If you find a good scent free conditioner please come back and let us know! She will forever be great-full!!!

I know there are products you can order online but I did find these products at Gander Mt. If we can find them.

I use Scent Killer body wash, its not too bad on the hair too. However I think this year I am going to go with stricly green apple scented shampoo & conditioner and will see how that works. I use normal Speed Stick unscented anti-perspirant.

If you have long hair, I also found after you comb it (when wet) and braid it - it really helps. My hair is naturally curly and mid-back length. I cannot get a comb through it when dry. So I just braid it up and leave it. Saves me the annoyance of tangles.

I also braid mine when I get out of the shower. I use scent killer gold regular but it can be a little tough on your hair after a week of hunting. I'm also going to start using the for her products this year.

Some women use Just For Does.

I go elk hunting for 9 days straight which involves 10 days of tent camping. I wash my VERY thick medium length hair with some 6 year old Dead Down Wind Body & hair Soap or DDW Shampoo & conditioner. I run to town every 3 days or so for a shower.

If I am upwind from an elk or mule deer, it won't matter what product I used on my hair...I am busted. Therefore, I don't worry about what scent free products I use.

Year round, I do use unscented soap (Dove) and occasionally unscented shampoo because of allergies. I don't do it because of hunting. Since my thick hair picks of pollen all day long, I shower at night so my sinuses don't have an issue with the pollen in my hair at night. If I am camping, I theorize my hair picks up that pollen and serves as a cover scent. I am sure I smell no matter what I do, so I play the wind in my favor.

I hate to break it to some women, but if you have your period...you smell of blood..human blood. I know gross. Why bring it up, right? I personally keep this in mind because coyotes, mountain lions and bears can pick up the smell of blood. To ignore this fact is not in my best interest. Deer will smell this too. Being well informed, helps keep us safer. I tell my male hunting partner when I am bleeding. To withhold that information is not fair to him and his safety.

Well the green apple Suave shampoo and conditioner worked like a charm. Had a big doe with a couple of teenagers come in dead downwind, never smelled me or my green apple scented shampoo and conditioner. Took her at 20 yards. Then I had a dozen more deer again come from dead downwind right by my tree.
