Hard to say for sure. Maybe it's little guy holding it. There are some big wolves out there tho'.

I had this wolf pelt. That's a standard height door. (and hides tend to shrink a bit during tanning) It was a big wolf. (but not the biggest wolf pelt I've seen)

Saw that one floating around the net last year. I'm no woolf expert, but that looks to be a bit too large to be real.

I'd like to hear Dan's opinion, but he's down in IL without internet I believe.

I'm not one to scream photoshop of every big buck that I see, but when I look at this picture there are a couple of things that seem fishy to my, so I'm going to say it's a fake.

Did a quick seach to see how big they can get. Biggest on record was 175 lbs! That can easily make the average 5'9" man seem little.

Supposedly killed in Alberta and is assumed the new world record after the drying period. There is another photo on this site in the gallery with another man holding it. Not sure which one actually killed it. Story says it was killed over bear bait...I'm assuming Monster Mix.

gray wolves can get up to 200+ lbs under premium conditions, this may be just a freak of a dog that got lucky everyday eating healthy and good blood lines. Cant believe anything now a days tho with photo shopping and internet. It is possible for them to get that big tho... It could be real. I dont know what to think really... If I crossed paths with that.. I probly wouldnt of shot it... I get jumpy when a big animal thats not intended to be there shows up... like black bears and badgers showing up on my food plots.

When I lived in Lafayette, IN. they had/have a place called Wolf Park. Huge place with a lot of real wild/tame wolves plus an inclosure of buffalo that they let the wolves hunt in every Sunday. Yes... they can get that big.
