I checked my cams today and was disappointed for the second pull in a row. From 5/23-6/4 i got 1500 pics at my best camera. From 6/4 to today i have maybe 300. I know that it is standard to go down on the number of pictures since deer are off eating the green things instead of mineral. But today when I checked I got these pictures and I was wondering if wolves have moved in. There are multiple rumors of wolves in my area just never any concrete evidence at our land. What do you guys think this is? I really hope you all say coyote hands down. I threw ina reference pic too. PRMS1056.jpg PRMS1058.jpg PRMS1059.jpg

I really hope it is just a coyote. When you see the picture of me at the same place as it, it is about as high as my lower thigh. I know it's not a big wolf I'm worried that it could be a young wolf.

I'd say yote, though a size ref would help. I definitely don't think it's a young wolf. They always look really lanky.

FWIW, I get deer and wolves on the same camera on the same day all the time. Sometimes, within an hour of each other.

He ate them all! They may have found a good food source nearby.

Fitz, I believe you since you are so far up north that the deer have no choice but to inhabit the same area. But down here in central MN the deer aren't used to wolves and I think if a pack moved in it would turn over the herd and they would scattered since they have no idea what wolves are. eventually it may get back to normal but it would be some long hunting seasons until then. That is just my thoughts on it...

It could take time, but not long. We have the same results near Spooner WI.

I'm sure they aren't "new" friends.... Just because a wolf has moved into the area doesn't mean the deer move out. And I don't think it's even a wolf, and we all know coyotes and deer are pretty much always in the same areas.

I think you need to check for different deer travel routes if you're not getting many pictures.
