Without modern day surgery would you be here today?

It's kind of a toss up for me.

I had a heart condition turn up when I was 15, that required surgery. I actually had to travel to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital to have the surgery done. I had an irregular rhythm that was discovered at a sports physical. My heart would actually take a 3 second pause.

Could I have lived with it? Probably.

I had my adnoids taken out, which is not life threatening either.

I would have a very crooked nose laid over on cheek, some heald bones (crooked) and be nursing a serious rotator tear if not for modern surgery :D I would still be here but not as good as now :)

Other then a hernia surgery in first grade... nothing life threatening. I've had to make three trips to town to have metal removed from my eye. Had saftey glasses on the last two time and still caught hell from the same nurse each time. Otherwise just minor stuff... smashed finger, bale hook in the leg to the bone, ripped my knee up good right before Troy showed up to hunt and ripped up my ankle worse the next spring. Troy watched me take a couple headers while hunting from the knee giving out when I stepped on it wrong. The deep snow sucked. LOL

The knee and ankle took almost a year each to heal. Should have went in for both of them but was working/hunting and working/shedhunting.

This oldish body doesn't heal as fast nor as good as it use to. :(

I would probably still be hopping around on one leg if it wasn't for modern day surgery.

I have been fortunate... I have never had a surgery for anything. Hell, I've never even had a cavity.

Other than already being dead for a little bit when I was 13, I've never needed surgery for anything. Lot of bumps, bruises, concussions, breaks, etc... but nothing life threatening.

That's exactly what he said. He also said he's never saw It before.

Dang Isaiah! Funny picture but I feel your pain on that knee injury. Man, I played in the Virginia highschool all star football game and the very first kick off I ran side by side with a stud football player. He got belted so hard that he tore his pcl/acl and flew right into me on the first play of the game! He was in a world of hurt and he was attending a junior college so his potential to get recruited turned on one play.

I am pretty sure I would have been dead in 1998 or at least paralyzed.

I would be here, atleast I think so... back when I was around 7 I was cracked in the head with a gold club. I had a fracture in my skull (small) and several stiches put in. I stayed several nights in the hospital and had to be woke up every two hours as nurses asked me a couple questions (whats my name? where am I? ect). It wasn't fun, nothing too serious I guess.

Other than that, I have had both legs broken, 3 broken ribs, a couple broken toes, and more stiches than I care to think about.
