I don't know why I was thinking about this today but it just popped into my head. You guys do not have to get specific if you don't want to in regards to your medical issues, but would you still be alive today without the capabilities of modern day surgery? I might have a fighting chance, but not really sure as my appendix burst when I was around 30. I would harbor to say no. I don't know why I was thinking this deep today so sue me. Life is fragile.

No. I would have died in 1994.

That is crazy to think about. I'd still be here but not as comfortable. 1 Knee surgery, eye surgery, 30+ kidney stones (3 surgery's) , so many stitches i cant remember.

See guys, that is what I was thinking about today. I remember you talking about that Jeff. We are just so lucky to be living these days. And again I repeat, life is fragile.

I've never thought of it that way (modern surgery angle). Probably should.

Without modern day surgery I would be limping around with 2 torn ACL's and medial meniscus + a ruptured appendix and an umbillical hernia. :) What fun life would be at 35 with those maladies! Thank you God for modern day medicine.

No I would have died in 1983. I almost bled to death internally.

Yeah.. .I probably would still be here... I've never been in a truly life threatening ordeal. Not to say that I haven't done anything that I should have died from, but I haven't been hurt all that bad. I have dumb luck.

I'd be here, but the same couldn't be said for the old man.

Last spring, he had a drain in his brain, off and on, for a month.

    I still would be.

But alot of people i have had in my squad wouldn't. People who have suffered strokes, heart attacks, bad trauma. Simply wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for our health care providers and modern medicine.

Rocking, my dad passed a kidney stone after one of my highschool football games. My mom says he just pulled the car to the side of the road, stepped out of the car, then grunted and fell over on the side of the road in the dirt! LOL.

I've actually thought about this before Brett. I too had my appendix taking out. They bursted on me but then sealed back up. Weird I know but that's what the doc said when I was out of surgery. This all happened In 1995 and I'm sure I would've died at the age of 21 years old.

Drink a LOT of milk??? I had a co-worker that had probably 4-5 procedures in a year's time, and I asked one night if he drank a lot of milk??? He said he drank maybe 3-4gallons a week!!!! I told him if he cut it back to a gallon (OR LESS) a week, it would greatly help.....5 yrs later, he's never had another kidney stone!!!

    .........

I'd still be alive, but I'd have a LOT bigger couple scars on me than what I have!!! I had to have my Gall Bladder out in Sept. 08, and I had to have a procedure that lasered a large stone in my common bile duct to prevent having a LARGE incision, drains, and likely 7-10days in the hospital.
