Since a majority of the crops throughout country are coming down so early, how do you think it will affect the deer in the late season. I know from what Ive heard corn and beans should be done being harvested in Ohio by the first week of october. In past years I know the majority of corn would still be standing going into November and even seen it standing during the shotgun season in Ohio. Do you think this will have a major impact on the game in your aread during the late season. I believe those who have food plots should do very well during the mid to late season.

I starting to think that if we have harsh winter, Im not sure how well the deer will fare. It seemed in the past I would see deer out in the fields feeding until late december and early january. Im not so sure the deer will have that luxury this year. Any thoughts?

We had a harsh winter last year with a lot of snow. The deer just changed their diet. They would still paw the snow away to get to grasses but they also ate a lot of small stems on a lot of trees. Depending on the snow depth, food plots can be very beneficial.
