Gonna sit half the day Friday in my climber over a scrape on some public land. Depending on how much rutting activity I see I'll sit all day Sunday. I'll report back!
My son saw a doe and grunted in a small buck this evening in his stand and I saw and heard nothing....the deer were moving around today though when we went to check our cameras on our other stands. Oneida County.Did have one nice buck on video at 5:15 taking care of business at a nice scrape area two days ago. Great to see some day time movement. This could be a great weekend..however the wind may be a bit challenging. Good luck to all those getting out. BHOD!!>>>
After trying to get my dad back into hunting the last few years, he got serious about it this season. I kept telling him about the newer property I've been having good sightings on and he seemed excited. He went out and bought a crossbow and I set him up in one of my stands. He was texting me all morning how the deer were moving. He sent me a text at 10:25am saying he just saw a nice 8 and the wide giant I missed back on 10/23 come through, but too far away. I told him to relax and they should come back through. I get another text at 10:45am saying he needs help cause he got the 8pt! The 8pt circled back, but the big boy never came back down the ridge. He was so jacked up!! It was the first deer he's shot in years, since we lost our private land. I think he's got the fire back again!! He is heading out to buy his own climber tomorrow! We use to go ALL the time, but since the farm we hunted got sold he doesn't get into the public land. He's hooked again now. I got a nice one back on 10/29 and he scored today. The wide giant is next on our radar. Sent from my XT901 using Tapatalk
Got this guy on Wednesday North of Richland Center. He was the 3rd buck I saw that morning cruising or chasing. I was out this morning north of Barneveld and saw three doe and passed on a nice 9 pointer tending one of them. Taking my godson out tomorrow so he hopefully can see his first live deer close up. I hope the wind isnt too bad.
Man he looks like one I had gotten on video north of richland center this past last august. Congrats!
4 little bucks cruising already along WI/MN border in Pepin Cty & lots of deer in fields when walking to stand for first time this yr. hoping the shooter bucks decide to do some cruising during daylight hours too! Good luck to everyone!
Today 10 am , only seen 3 does at first light and nothing since. Hope everyone else is having better luck
Saw 22 deer in the stand tonight. Couldn't get a mature doe in range. Heard two bucks going at down the field where I could not see. They fought for a good 5-10 minutes. 2 hours left of shooting and I saw 3 young bucks chasing a doe. While, back to Minneapolis tonight. Hopefully something goes down next weekend before all my deer go down during gun season.
was out last sunday, saw 3 does early in the morning. to dark to get a shot , sat til 10, went back out at 130 and only saw 1 yearling at 430. plan on going tomorrow moring the 11-16 . hope the rain holds off and the wind doesnt whip around to early
In Pepin County lots of fawns still with does. My grandpa has been seeing more bucks each day as he is taking out corn. My uncle had the big buck I'm hoping for in is front lawn this morning eating apples off of his trees in broad daylight. Hopefully this weekend is the weekend and they all don't get killed during gun season.
on friday 11/15 had a nice 8 chasing a doe and 2 fawns in washington county...other than that havent seen much....anyone know how the movement and rut is up in marinette county?
Only good hunt I had was saturday night. Had 130" class 10 come in to 59 yards and it started lightning and he got the heck out of dodge. I also had 4 does run from the lightning that same night.
