Schultzy's right; applying as a group is the best way to insure hunting together. I wouldn't be worried about getting him a tag though...there's been thousands left over every year for the last couple of years. It will depend on which unit you're looking for though.

Snake, we hunt zone 2 here in the SE. There are 3900 left over tags for the last season. I hope to get him one of those, this way we can do the youth hunt and hopefully get it done then.

I wish I knew a place to hunt in Zone 1 so we could go there, more tags left over in that zone for the earlier seasons as well!

Zone 2 tags are defiantly a commodity.

    Joe,

If you buy your licenses on-line if gives you the option to create a group. Then when you apply for your son's permit you apply under that group number.

It's pretty simple if you do it online. If you go to a local store the person behind the counter may make it difficult due to ignorance. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Brad, thats what I thought, just kinda looked into it, just too late! This is the only way I will apply from now on, Dom wants us to be able to hunt at the same time, ya know, both have a bow or gun in our hands! I do too!
