    Hey guys,

I was approached by a buddy to go on a bow hunting trip to central Wisconsin with him. Anyone from that part of Wisconsin that could shed light on deer numbers and success rates on public land?

I'm in central but more in the Waupaca County area. Lots of land owners that have lots of deer but never let anyone hut it or they only gun hunt. Also a lot of public land gets hunted hard which I'm one of them. Don't be afraid to hike in farther than most other guys. That's how I get to see my deer. Find out where the other guys are hunting and just move in beyond them or cut them off LOL

I've hunted around Wisconsin Rapids area and have always had decent luck, just finding the right area and where the deer are moving through and where they are going too has always paid off for me

I actually live in Chippewa County and I would have to say deer numbers this year are looking better. With the warm weather I was expecting slow activity because I am also on public land. What I would do is search MFL on the WI DNR site and hunt this. Best chances because this land is not always public so the hunting pressure is minimal.
