I think all compound bow hunters should tip their arrows with Rac Em Back .357 heads and have WWIII against the crossbow hunters next year!
You made the statement that all able bodied people using crossbows are somehow lazy I just figured you could enlighten us what kind of equipment you are using. I'm not pointing the finger at you directly but this is the same opinion many have and it's hilarious to point out how silly this argument is. The same people that like to criticize others often pick up their 80% let-off bow (carbon arrows, etc.), their rifle, shotgun or their in-line muzzleloader and not think a thing of it. If I am wrong and you bowhunt only with that stick and string in your loin cloth then I apologize LOL!! It's just equipment people. An avenue to get more in the outdoors. A way to help increase our numbers and hopefully give us all a way to help keep hunting in our future.
First of all, this is not my arguement, it's my opinion. Second of all, what is in my loin cloth is classified as an illegal weapon. I hunt with a hand drawn bow.
Every argument I hear against crossbows is laughable. I started bowhunting this year, got my first bow this last Feb. and I was grouping arrows at 30 yards in a baseball sized circle within 5 minutes. The people against this all think that shooting a bow well is hard work and that crossbows are automatic. It's not that way at all. The newest bows are so easy to use, that you could take any guy off the street, spend 15-20 minutes with him, and he would be accurate. I took a buddy with me to the shop about 2 months ago, he's 45 years old, hasn't shot a bow since he was 15, and he was shooting groups at 20 yards with arrows touching each other. Also, I love this because it allows my dad to bowhunt. He is not technically disabled or over 65, but he hurt his shoulder bad. He can pull back a bow, but after a shot or 2 his shoulder starts to give him excruciating pain. He can now hunt during the archery season, when before, he couldn't.
I for one would much rather people be able to use equipment that for them increases their chances of a quick ,clean ethical kill as apposed to being forced to be using setup that would be marginal at best.
What may be marginal for someone could be deadly in the hands of others. I see your point and am not anti-crossbow but this isn't an argument to use in my personal opinion.
So I take it you shoot a longbow with wooden arrows? Your argument is stupid. Should everyone be required to shoot a musket unless your handicapped or old then you are able to use a shotgun or rifle? Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
Seems to be following along with what this thread is doing. I know we all will never agree, sit down around a camp fire and sing Kumbaya or anything but condemning someone for what hunting tool they pick up is still just silly these days.
Such hypocrisy in this thread ....A compound shooter whining about a XBow is laughable ... I actually can see where a stick and string guy would want a separate season from XBows AND Compounds ... a recurve or longbow is so far from a compound ...
There are some very mean ,ugly , ignorant people with an elitist attitude in the comments on FB. There are also others who have problems forming coherent sentences.
Can you use those bullet arrow things? LOL I don't see the big deal with the crossbow. I wouldn't use one but I could care less if other people do.
I hunted with a crossbow during the late season here in IL about 1/2 dozen times last year and didn't kill squat. I'd like a refund from all the people who told me it's just like hunting with a gun.
Scope just gives people the idea they can shoot farther and more accurate. Truth is crossbows aint no more accurate than compounds if the idiot behind it can shoot. That said I think crossbows should be for handicapped and kids but to each there own
Yeah, about that. Seems to be a lot of mouth breathers over there spouting off and beating their chests. It is FB though so I'm not surprised.
Who cares whether weapon is a recurve, compound, or crossbow? At the end of the day, more people involved (legally) in hunting is gives the sport a stronger base in the local communities, states, and the nation as a whole. In the long run, more participants will ultimately mean more acceptance of any legal form of hunting within our society as a whole. How will that ever be a bad thing? If the use of a crossbow is that much of an affront to you, get some like-minded friends together, form a club and lease some land. Ban the use of cross bows within the lands that the club leases. There are far worse things that could happen to hunting in Wisconsin than the legalization of the use of crossbows.
I don't use a crossbow and may never use one, but the last time I checked you still need to find the deer in the woods and hit them. Rifles are legal state wide now in Wi and I know a lot of hunters that switched and missed ( with an easier weapon supposedly!!) If your worry about record books im sure they will let you know who (cheated) thats my 2cents Sent from my SCH-R530U using Tapatalk
