So, if its people's shot selection we're worried about, we should probably ban trad bows too. I mean, its the only way to prevent people from taking shots like this....

So you of all people know how different they are... yet both are limited to an extent...

I am not trying to be a jerk, but you know what it takes to master both... so I would think you would both non judgemental on xbows...

same thing happens with any bow. If anything, some magnification would help so u could see small limbs that u wouldn't be able to see by eye. Bad shots are made with any hunting implement that has been taken out hunting. Good shots are made by smart and respectful hunters. Poor shots are made by people that don't know any better, regardless of the weapon.

I'm not on crossbows at all I am at rifled style scopes on crossbows. That's my baggage bit makes people shoot ignorantly cuz they "can see so good". Put HHa or a slider sight or pins on them and lettm have a blast but a tubed scope is not bow huntin in my book.

I can argue with all y'all till I'm blue in the face. My point is take your magnification OFF then see jus how good u shoot.

You mean the same guy who took 100 yard shots with a trad bow? Trust me, I agree he was great for the sport, but lets not kid ourselves here and think he was the most ethical hunter out there.

I think there is one state where it is legal to use for deer hunting. Mississippi I think.

we aren't talking apples to apples. Sitting there with my x bow resting on a shooting rail while I am looking though a scope doesn't to equate that to drawing a bow without getting busted. And only then getting a clean shot off in the amount of can hold my bow at full draw and still execute a shot properly.

Spot and stalking...I haven't taken too many shots with my bow while laying prone with it resting on a back pack.
Those tripods sure do come in handy when a bull elk is screaming at you an he hangs up a step or two back in the black timber.
And how about the cranks and motors some people use to even cock the xcross bow because they couldn't do it otherwise?

One thing I will give to the cross bow industry is they are have been good at marketing and lobbying.

There is a place for crossbows, for the handicapped and even for hunters above a certain age to use in the archery season. Otherwise let the archery seasons be hunted by archers.

So then why are you saying its easier to kill using a xbow then a compound if you can out shoot one? Not all crossbows have scope on them. Man I wishbibonly shot a longbow so I could gripe about all the cheaters using compounds.

It's more than just an arrow tho.... there is a string... wheels / cams... string must be pulled... distance is about the same....
